Job Purpose/Overview

The Extrusion Coordinator has accountability for the process of a production area in Extrusion.
The role is responsible for driving operational excellence and continuous improvement by establishing work standards and providing coaching and feedback.
They have thorough technical understanding and knowledge of Operational Excellence Fundamentals and the Factory Mars Operating System (MSE/FMOS) and process control for their lines. This role is also critical in the implementation of Mars Supply Excellence (TPM) in the role of AM Pillar lead.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Lead for their Area
o Role models and supports improvements in Safety, Quality, and Performance
o Works with broader team to ensure that all Area, Line, and factory metrics are achieved
o Escalation point to resolve issues
o Leads Root Cause and Corrective Actions investigations for their area and implement improvements/systems to ensure issues are not repeated
o Standardization of equipment setup and Operation in their area and across all shifts
o Expert in equipment setup
o Traceability expert for their assigned area
o Perform trials as required in their area

Owns all Daily Management Systems (DMSs) execution and key leader in implementation of Mars Supply Excellence (MSE) Program
o Autonomous Maintenance Lead (incl Cleaning – Inspect – Lubricate (CIL) program)
o Leads the Daily Area FMOS connection point meetings
o Champions MSE activities and objectives for their respective line
o Trains and coaches' team on Transition DMS. Ensures Transition improvement targets are achieved
o Direct communication to the tech team

Leads Continuous Improvement
o Develops the Line Master/90-Day Plans to address losses and build capability
o Executes monthly review accountability of Area Master Plans and results. Anticipates change and develops plans to effectively implement changes
o Develops the Area Loss Analysis and drives its elimination for their area
o Analyzes line data to identify and prioritize loss elimination opportunities.
o Leads process definition to identify transition targets and document standards.
o Develops control strategies to enable operators to respond to situations.

Responsible for
o Identifying and eliminating upset conditions in the area
o Servicing and maintaining consumables and hardware/ extrusion tooling
o Startup and shutdown activities
o Accountable for sanitation activities (deep dive/breaks)
o KPI’s -TRS/NQC
o System/Equipment upgrades.

Training and Development
o Provides on the floor coaching of team leads and team members across all shifts
o Provides Skill Development/Technical Mastery/Coaching and Training
o Ensures proper execution of On-the-Job Training and operating procedures
o Provide SOP's (i.e.., changeovers, LOTO, Sanitation) and Instruction Manuals related to equipment for operators and train as required
o Evaluation and validation of operators in their area (i.e., step-up cards)
Take on assignments as required

Context and Scope

Extrusion Coordinator - role is accountable for performance of safety, quality, and operational excellence. They have thorough technical understanding and knowledge of Operational Excellence Fundamentals and the Factory Mars Operating System (MSE/FMOS) and process control for their lines. This role is also critical in the implementation of Mars Supply Excellence (TPM) in the role of AM Pillar lead.
The role is the escalation point for issues in the factory and could be called on at any time to help solve an issue that is affecting plant performance.
This role also fosters associate involvement and ownership in area management.

Job Specifications/Qualifications

Education & Professional Qualifications

•5+ years of experience in manufacturing
•Demonstrated Capabilities for problem solving and continuously improvement
Preferred:
•3-5 years of experience operating in a TPM/technical, manufacturing environment

Knowledge/Experience

•Experience in Manufacturing environment and operation of process and/or packaging equipment
•Knowledge of Food Safety, HACCP, ISO, SPC – Lean Six Sigma
•Clear ability to relate to and motivate people and effectively train
•Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
•Excellent written and oral communication skills, coaching and training skills
•Proficient in MS Office
