POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Complex Public Relations Manager plays a vital role in the storytelling and overall publicity efforts for The Westin Nanea Ocean Villas and The Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas. In the performance of this position, you will be responsible for media requests, the creation of media materials, asset management, and photo and video shoots. You will also assist with social media efforts for the resort.

Public Relations

·  Identify and/or create newsworthy content from resort/F&B/culture/spa perspectives.
·  Write press releases/media advisories and distribute accordingly. Responsible for follow up and fulfilling media requests.
·  Develop contacts and relationships with media
·  Field all media requests
·  Coordinate individual media stays, conduct site tours, make reservations (spa/restaurants/activities, etc.)
·  Participate with media blitzes or travel-related to media opportunities (i.e. TV appearances, media luncheons, etc.) as needed.
·  Order/create amenities for blitzes and other special events
·  Organize group press trips and participate in relevant events
·  Work with KBRA/MVCB, including submitting listings for KBRA and MVCB newsletters
·  Maintain archive of press clippings and create monthly and year-end AVE Reports

Marketing/Advertising

·  Manage print, radio, social media advertising
·  Manage graphic design production by working with BMD and Vistana creative services
·  Update website content and photography
·  Write and update collateral content (in-room books, local publications, annual holiday book, etc.)
·  Assist with advertising/promotional prize contracts
·  Assist with prize winner stays (i.e. Live with Kelly, Wheel of Fortune, Lets Make a Deal, The Price is Right)

Social Media

·  Assist with developing social media strategy for The Westin Kā'anapali Ocean Resort Villas and The Westin Nanea Ocean Villas
·  Manage and create content for social media platforms (such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) using Sprinklr
·  Field social media influencer opportunities and/or reach out to specific influencers. Coordinate social media stay and manage assets from social influencers
·  Assist F&B and spa departments with social media
·  Monitor social media trends and implement when appropriate

Online Reputation Management

·  Respond to comments on review sites and adhere to corporate response policies

Asset Management

·  Manage corporate resort photo shoots and video shoots
·  Manage special photography / videography (for new initiatives, PR campaigns, social media)
·  Manage resort asset libraries, created new content (photo/video). Maintained or created new collateral and adhere to brand standards

General

·  Work closely with Marriott Brand Marketing Digital Team and Vistana Team on various initiatives and participate in conference calls
·  Assist with submissions for various industry and media awards (i.e. Na Poe Paahana, ARDA awards, etc.)
·  Attend regular meetings with resort outlets and industry partners
·  Assist with department budget forecasting, expense tracking and invoice processing
·  Create presentations as needed (i.e. annual HOA presentation)
·  Assist departments with proofreading, etc.
·  Participate in resort-related and community events as appropriate

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities:

·  Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
·  Must have a minimum of 3 years of working experience within PR, Communications and/or Marketing.
·  Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
·  Must possess basic computational ability.
·  Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, use of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
·  Experience with photography, Photoshop, and InDesign preferred.
·  Experience within the hospitality industry is preferred.
