Job Summary


This position will be part of the Dubai continent office for the accurate internal and external financial reporting of Marriott's subsidiaries within the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region. The key responsibilities includes to support the Corporate and Statutory department on day to day basis by ensuring completeness of legal subsidiary ledgers to which he/she is assigned in order to facilitate timely tax returns and audited financial statements.

This role will work closely with the Corporate Statutory Accounting team based in Dubai and will serve as a contact for entity questions/issues for stakeholders in MEA region.

Job Description
Ensure that Accounts Payable vouchers are entered into Peoplesoft on a timely basis
• Ensure that Manual Wires are sent to Treasury on a timely basis
• Performs bank reconciliation for MEA entities
·  Assists in completing period-end closing procedures and management reporting as specified
·  Assists on the monthly Balance Sheet reconciliation process
·  Assists on the quarterly Payroll process for International Compensation & Benefits contracts
·  Communicates financial concepts in a clear and persuasive manner that is easy to understand and drives desired behaviors
·  Leverages technology and effectively uses information systems and tools to generate desired reports
·  Ensures that the P&L is accurate and recorded in the correct account
·  Performs other duties as assigned by the department

Candidate Profile
Experience
·  Previous accountancy or auditing role is a plus
·  Experience using Peoplesoft GL system is a plus

Education or Certification
·  High school completion or equivalent is required
·  Accounting Qualification or Studying towards an Accounting qualification is preferred
·  Bachelors degree in finance is preferred

Skills and Knowledge
·  Strong communication skills (verbal, listening, writing)
·  Fluency in English, Arabic is a plus
·  Strong organization skills and ability to multi-task
·  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
·  Excellent MS Office skills; PeopleSoft work experience desirable
·  Ability to acquire and maintain strong relationships e.g., associates, counterparts at regional offices, vendors
·  Ability to communicate on technical matters with the team and Dubai office
·  Ability to work in a dynamic and multi-cultured environment
·  Demonstrates sound judgment and working within tight deadlines
·  High degree of personal integrity and responsibility
·  Knowledge of hospitality industry, complex accounting structures in multi-currencies
