Job description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Ensure customer satisfaction by shipping goods (seed, product, information, material) on time.
Ensure on time reception of (seed, material, etc.) based on customer demand and priorities.
Manage the movement of the seed within the warehouses and to and from off-site locations. Manage the reception of all shipments of seeds and other products to and from the plant.

POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
Manage shipping priorities and product allocations to support customer orders and internal requests.
Manager the movement of the seed within the warehouse to meet internal needs.
Manage the receiving activity, by priorities, in coordination with Plant Operations, Inventory and Field Production. Other activities of shipping and reception may be necessary for non- seed materials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

•Maintain facility to ensure it is clean, orderly, operational and ensure safety protocols are in place and followed.
•Provide work instruction and direction to Shipping, Receiving, and Warehouse personnel
•Supervise and coordinate unloading and staging of inbound shipments and shipping of outbound orders, ensuring order fulfillment accuracy and timeliness for both product, paperwork.
•Ensure that outgoing materials or products are properly packaged, sealed, labeled, tracked, and recorded
•Prepare documents such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to properly route materials and products.
•Manage all Forklift activities and maintenance of forklift program.
•Become a forklift trainer.
•Maintain 5S and housekeeping of warehouse and surrounding area to ensure a safe work place for employees. As well as maintaining the Integrated Pest Management Program in the warehouse to reduce insect damages to the seed.
•Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employee's as needed
•Confer and correspond with appropriate representatives to rectify problems such as damages, shortages, and non-conformance to specifications
•Resolve inbound and outbound customs issues timely and efficiently.
•Interface with other department supervisor or managers to identify, communicate and solve shipping and receiving related problems.
•Deliver or route materials to departments
•Review the Seed Reception plan to ensure the priorities for the operation are met.
•Ensure the flow of materials, in reception and fumigation activities to ensure supply of seed according to customer demand.
•Continually improve processes and work flow
•Learn other areas to be a back-up for other supervisors as needed.
•Adhere to Harris Moran Quality System standards and procedures in order to ensure that customer requirements are met.
•Other duties as assigned

Profile

Education / Experience:

•Bachelor degree in Agriculture, Business or related area; or equivalent experience
•10 yrs general warehouse experience within industry or like department
•2 yrs supervisory experience
•Experience in 5S and Lean Manufacturing is highly desirable
