Job Summary:

The Cost and Value Engineer participates on cost and value related subjects in the research, plan and design of mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, components and systems of Mining Trucks. The Technical Cost and Value Analyst Engineer coordinates activities with other Engineering members, purchasing, fabrication, assembly and manufacturing engineering, of the systems, components and the complete product.

Essential Job Duties:

· Follow up the manufacturing cost development with project progress including cost related design reviews on mechanical and electrical components and systems as well their integration into the final product.
· Identify and report costs drivers
· Conducts Value Analysis associated with engineering designs of truck components and systems to support decisions in product management, design, supply chain and manufacturing.
· Provides general and technical design data to support purchasing and engineering cost reduction measures.
· Develops cost estimates of truck systems, components and parts for manufacturing and assembly.
· Develops project plans; coordinates projects; communicates changes and progress; completes projects on time and within budget ensuring components costs and weight targets are met.
· Works independently and as a team member with other Engineers, Designers and production personnel or on ad hoc projects.
· Supports and assist in the development of best-practice guidelines

· Job Skills: Applies the required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) in the performance of essential job duties:
· Knowledge of mechanical and general engineering
· Knowledge/Experience in Cost Controlling and Manufacturing Processes
· Knowledge of finite element analysis and material properties Knowledge of Database

software; AutoCAD, Pro-engineer Design software or equivalent software; Microsoft Project Management software; and MS Office software.

· Knowledge of BaaN system as it relates to truck Bill Of Material (BOM) structure and inventory control.
· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, schematics, part drawings, assembly drawings, component / system specifications and governmental regulations.
· Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
· Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
· Ability to maintain discretion.
· Skill in planning, managing, and directing resources and managing projects.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline from a four-year college or university; or six or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration. While normally the work is performed in the engineering office the noise level in this work environment is usually quiet.

Additional Requirements:

· Travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time.
· Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver license and passport.
· Ability to maintain Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) certification.
