So what does your job look like?

Cloud Data Engineer Apprentice

L’Oréal is looking for a Cloud Data Engineer apprentice to join our team to support the build of new Digital Consumer Services for our brands, enable the ongoing buildout of our Consumer Insight data stack on Cloud platforms.

Thanks to innovative digital services we build (Skin Diagnostics, Foundation Finders, Hair Diagnostic, …), our consumer knowledge is improving and we need to build data products to generate efficient insights from this knowledge for our brands and markets.

This position will play a critical role in this insight generation by working on structured and unstructured data such as beauty profiles (beauty description, preferences, concerns, routines), products/contents and services recommendations, services usage, etc.

This position will support existing team to design, code, and implement new data products, support existing pipelines, and support Developers and Business needs on our Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform technology stack.

The Data Engineer will interact within a core team, occasionally interfacing with other technical stakeholders both internally and externally in a international context.
The Data Engineer is a member of the Digital Services Factory team.

The Data Engineer apprentice will also learn to

·      Design, Build pipelines and functionalities in the Azure Data Stack (Data Lake, Cosmos DB, Data Factory, Databricks, Service Bus…) but also in the Google Cloud Platform (Big Query)

·      Scale and template data use cases to integrate in a global data platform (multi-zones, multi-services).

·      Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize efficiency and quality

·      Understand the existing system and processes to document

·      Work with the Data Architect to translate functional specifications into technical specifications.

·      Work with internal/external partners to enable them browsing and working on our data in an agile environment

·   Receive support from top industry coaches and mentors to progress through your personal and professional goals, skills roadmap, while also demonstrating new knowledge and competencies through hands-on application with your portfolio project.

You are...

·      Attending a Master’s degree in Computer Science or Statistics. 

·      Good exposure to computer skills, including experience with programming languages (Python, SQL, R, etc.)

·      Exposure to Microsoft Azure Data Lake, Data Factory, Databricks, and Database products

·      High level of attention to detail and problem-solving ability

·      Ability to accurately sort and analyze data

·      Understanding of data management (e. g. permissions, security, and monitoring). 

·      Ability to communicate ideas both verbally and in writing

·      Must be willing to learn additional data engineering and analytics toolsets

A + to have:

·      Knowledge in database development projects and ETL processes.  

·      Knowledge with Big Data technologies like Spark, Hadoop…
