Job Description

The successful applicant will be responsible for the delivery and maintenance of capacity planning models, pricing models and forecasts for multiple engagements.

The role will also provide analysis of data regarding operations performance and communicate with operational teams to proactively identify performance trends.

The role will work within a team of Planning & MI Analysts in the delivery of services in support of Operations. Responsible for delivering performance reporting and resource plans across the onshore and offshore operations.

The role will also work with the Pricing & Planning Lead and Operations Management to ensure optimum deployment of operational resource against plans and performance against financial targets.

The ability to engage and communicate with stakeholders, including at a senior level is essential.

The role will involve working with several internal functions e.g. Operations Support, Technology Development and multiple Operation engagements within Managed Services, so the ability to proactively build and maintain internal networks will be key to the success of the role.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Working with Pricing & Planning Lead on building knowledge in operations processes during set up activities for each engagement
• Manage small projects as appropriate, and provide input to reporting projects and provide information, analysis & technical support for development & implementation activities
• Analysis of historical data to provide insight and challenge during the set-up phase
• Delivery of required outputs for contractual Service Reviews
• Proactively identify trends, anomalies & early warning signs of determination.
• Monitor actual performance to plan and make decisions to ensure business objectives are maintained
• Assist Planning Lead in resource forecasting and contingency planning, anticipating changes agreeing assumption reviews with operations
• Implement Forecasting & Productivity initiatives.
• Work with peers to translate forecasts into operational plans and targets
• Support forecasting, planning and pricing estimates for potential new engagements ensuring fit for purpose and operational input obtained
• Maintain resource planning procedures ensuring optimum deployment of resources and liaising with Operations on headcount and where recruitment is required
• Input to development of and effectively report the required engagement budgets, covering resourcing, costs and expenses to meet commercial objectives and targets
• Track financial performance of engagements against plan and flag issues to the Pricing & Planning Lead.
• Ensure the policy, procedures and practices of the MI & Planning team comply fully with all legal and regulatory requirements and codes of practice/conduct
• Ensure appropriate risk controls are in place so that items such as the potential risk to company arising from money laundering and fraud, is minimised
• Reporting of issues of concern and/or business incidents to Pricing & Planning Lead and/or Senior Leadership
• Provide support and cover for operations support levels across and upwards within team
• Build relationships to enhance management of activities across sites

Skills Required

• Experience of using Microsoft Excel and Other Microsoft Office tools i.e. PowerPoint, Access
• Understanding of workflow and operational processes
• Good communication skills.
• Good analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to use information to generate creative solutions to benefit the business.
• Attention to detail
• Adherence to governance principles
• Proven ability to work with other functions, including cross-divisional to achieve business objectives
• Awareness of the FCA, CCA, Data Protection Act and other relevant legislation, procedures and processes
• Commercial Awareness

Desirable Skills

Not essential, but beneficial:

• Excel modelling experience
• Budgeting, forecasting and planning experience in an operational environment
• Background in Financial services industry

Experience Required

• Degree educated or minimum 1 yrs in an Operations Role.
• Awareness of the FCA, CCA, Data Protection Act and other relevant legislation, procedures and processes
• Preferred degree in a Mathematical or Science based subject or background in Financial services industry, although not essential
