We are seeking a Data Scientist to play a key role in delivering on our Machine Learning agenda across the Nordics.

The NewTech service line was established in the fall of 2016 to bring KPMG to the forefront of technology innovation in the Nordics, where it drives both the strategic and implementation agenda for all things related to RPA, machine learning (and other AI), the Internet of Things, virtual assistants, blockchain and digital strategy - amongst others.

Data Scientist role

As a Data Scientist, you will be a highly driven quantitative professional who can help organisations in their data-driven transformation journeys to extract a variety of information at a massive scale, draw deep insights from the data using complex analytical algorithms, and articulate compelling and engaging stories. With us, you will have the ability to apply your skill sets in a business context.

Typical activities:

·  Drive client engagements focused on big data analytics and machine learning in diverse domains such as retail price optimisation, marketing strategies, customer intelligence, risk management, healthcare digitization, smart grids, cyber security etc.
·  Focus on strategy, design and execution of data-centric business problems, and in the process create unique analytical solutions comprising management of large datasets (e.g., Hadoop framework) supported by advanced analytical techniques (e.g., machine learning, neural networks, A/B testing, etc.)
·  Generate and test working hypotheses, prepare and analyse historical data, identify patterns from samples for reporting of trends and support predictive analytics.
·  Leverage data visualization techniques and tools to effectively demonstrate patterns, outliers and exceptional conditions in the data
·  Stay conversant in new analytic technologies, architectures and languages - where necessary - for storing, processing and manipulating this type of data.
·  Develop a flair for the exploratory and experimental side of the role, required to tease out interesting and previously unknown insights in vast pools of data
·  Support in sales meetings by providing technical insight and demonstrate know-how

Requirements

As a Data Scientist in NewTech, we expect you to have thorough understanding of programming and experience working with large data sets. We also appreciate the ability to understand business processes and identify problems that can be solved through machine learning/data modelling.

Key requirements:

·  Evidence of significant contributions to successful data-centric projects
·  Proficient with programming languages used by data scientists and in big data platforms, like Python, R, Scala, Julia, Java. Proficiency in other languages such as C++ will also be considered
·  MSc or Ph.D. or in Computer Science, Statistics, Biotechnology, Physics or similar scientific or engineering fields
·  Well versed at applying advanced analytical techniques to large and varied data sets. Sample techniques include, but are not limited to:
· 
·  Applied machine learning and natural language processing
·  Collaborative filtering and recommender systems
·  Social network analysis and statistical text mining
·  Neural networks
·  Event detection and tracking
·  Data visualization
·  Ensemble-based methods such as random forests
·  Data mining and predictive modelling
·  Working knowledge of a Big Data frameworks like Hadoop, including the various components like HDFS, Hive, Spark and the Map/Reduce programming framework
·  Experience with advanced visualisation techniques, including D3.js.
·  High degree of personal motivation and ability to self-manage
·  Persuasive power to communicate with a variety of stakeholders in the organisation
·  Creative problem solving ability, working in ambiguous situations
·  Flair for storytelling based on actionable insights drawn from raw data
·  Fluency in English and Danish required
·  Willingness to challenge the rules
