Your new opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Back-End Web Developer to work within our solution delivery team to develop leading data and geospatial solutions for our clients. The Back-End Web Developer responsible for managing the interchange of data between the server and the users. Your primary focus will be the development of all server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements built by your co-workers into the application. A basic understanding of front-end technologies is necessary as well with cloud integration and migration experience for new and existing products is desired.

To effectively deliver quality data products to the market the role involves continual engagement and knowledge sharing with our stakeholders.

Key responsibilities :
·  Responsible for providing guidance on the technical feasibility and scope of engineering/architecting needed to solve problems and deliver features
·  Working in cross-functional teams to develop and deploy assigned web and data features utilizing code built to a very high standard
·  Working with peers to address and fix any technical roadblock
·  Communicating with the engineering, product and client teams to manage any deployments and incidents and ensure clear documentation
·  Actively questioning and suggesting improvements to current systems, work practices, and processes
·  Integration of user-facing elements developed by a front-end developers with server side logic
·  Building reusable code and libraries for future use
·  Optimization of the application for maximum speed and scalability
·  Implementation of security and data protection
·  Design and implementation of data storage solutions
·  Mentor team members and encourage continuous learning
·  Take the lead on projects all the way through to delivery
·  Maintain an in-depth understanding of technologies and stay abreast of current industry trends and emerging technologies.

We don't expect you to be an expert, but we'll sure make sure you get on the right path towards becoming one.

This role will continuously drive scalability, automation, innovation and be an enabler for our software engineers, working closely with the team to build and integrate modern tools, best practices and techniques into our environment.

You will :
·  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems or related field or equivalent work experience is required.
·  6+ years of experience working on software development teams
·  6+ years of experience with API experience (Design and Development)
·  6+ year experience with languages such as Javascript, NodeJS, etc.
·  5+ years of experience with scripting languages, such as Python, Bash, Perl, Lua
·  3+ years of experience working with distributed source control systems, like Git, GitHub or BitBucket
·  Experience with Amazon AWS or Azure services desired
·  Ability to communicate effectively in English
·  Demonstrated expertise with one or more database engines, including MySQL, Postgres, MS SQL, etc
·  Experience with data/analytics projects (DB clustering, data pipelines) desirable
·  Have specific interest in data with a customer-centric mindset
·  Possess the following traits:
·  Intellectual curiosity; exploring new territories and finding creative and unusual ways to solve data management problems.
