Kuehne + Nagel is looking for a Warehouse Lead who is organized and enjoys working in a fast paced environment!

Your Role

Under the direction of the General Manager, Operations Manager, and/or the Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouse Lead is responsible for the proper function of logistics activities under their direction in a manner consistent with company service, quality and cost objectives. The Warehouse Lead can be responsible for moving materials within the warehouse and the loading/unloading of materials onto or from vehicles utilizing a forklift, reach truck, order picker or other heavy material handling equipment. The Warehouse Lead can be responsible for receiving, storing, picking, packing, verification, shipping/manifesting, screening and other various duties as assigned to ensure the full and efficient operation of the warehouse.

Your Responsibilities

Warehouse Lead is responsible for completing all Warehouse Associate responsibilities in addition to the following:

-Supervise and coordinate unloading of inbound shipments.
-Act upon customer requests in a timely manner.
-Determine, resolve, and communicate requests and issues.
-Ensure employees are properly trained.
-Submit reports on a daily basis and when requested.
-Lead by example through communication and teamwork.
-Use material handling (MH) equipment to unload incoming materials.
-Verify and receive materials into inventory. 
-Marks and inventories packages for storage or transit.
-Palletizing and shrink-wrapping of material.
-Duties may include receiving, checking and storing.
-May be required to stack pallets and repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds.
-Use MH Equipment to move and store materials within the warehouse.
-Use MH Equipment to pick, verify and pack orders according to standard practice.
-Use MH Equipment or other designated means to load goods into trailers or other designated transport vehiclesfor distribution.
-Works from pick sheet to pull product or supplies.
-Check orders against pull sheets. 
-“Dangerous Goods”: when receiving dangerous goods, the necessary procedures must be followed and these shipments must be
stored in the designated section of the warehouse.
-Understand and adhere to local, State, and Federal regulations inclusive, but not limited, to OSHA, DOT, EPA and other government agencies. Certification is required to handle any hazardous material(s).
-If/when applicable, ‘bonded’ cargo must be processed and handled accordingly, based on existing guidelines for this type of
shipment.
-Deliver high level of service to customers.
-Provide good leadership skills in owning department assigned.
-Work well with others.
-Other duties as assigned.

Your Skills and Experiences

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

-Minimum Education: High School, High School Equivalent or Technical degree.
-Preferred Requirement: One (1) year experience in a lead or supervisory role.
-Must be a US Citizen.
-Successful completion of all required QSHE and related training.
-Employee will be expected to follow procedures introduced via on the job training.
-Elevating potential situations to the next level of supervision when required.
-Identify and correct mistakes/inconsistencies when receiving/completing paperwork.
-Ability to establish priorities and accomplish multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
-Proven basic math skills at the high school level.
-Ideal candidate will have prior experience in warehouse or manufacturing environment.
-Computer skills.
-Fluent in English.
-Overtime and weekends may be required.
