The function of the Regional/Local QSHE Manager (LQM) and the assignment of these responsibilities are mandatory within each Kuehne + Nagel branch/Location. However, dependent on the size and services of the branch/location, this position may be Regional for more than one location (full time dedication)

The candidate (LQM), with support of the Regional Manager and/or Branch/DCM Managers will manage and have responsibility for the implementation, ongoing maintenance of and compliance to the Kuehne + Nagel Management Systems within their designated Branch(es)/location(s) for: Quality, Safety and Health;Environment;Security;
This compliance shall be demonstrated through successful audit outcomes performed by the National QSHE Department, Corporate QSHE organization, customers audits, client audits, government and regulatory audits, and third-party registration audits to the various standards to which Kuehne + Nagel is certified.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Primary responsibilities of the LQM position include:
• Coordination of Training activities.
• Coordinate and support KN's Products with quality matters (PharmaChain, EngineChain, SecureChain).
• Subject matter expertise for Quality, Safety Health, Environment, and Security matters within the branch(es) /location(s). Performance of self-audits for compliance. The hosting of audits by Clients, Customers, third parties or Government agencies Implementation coordination and responsibility for new/revised standards and procedures. Communication and re-communication within the branch(es)/location(s) of relevant subject matter related to QSHE. Attend training from the National QSHE Team. Attend to the periodical meetings with the National QSHE Team. Attend to the Quarterly Meetings for Analysis of QSHE KPIs. Attend to the Annual National QSHE Meeting for planning and closing of the year

• SPECIFIC TASKS -QUALITY: Maintain an active and effective Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA) program (TIP) to include sufficient performance of Root Cause Analysis, and an ongoing review to determine the effectiveness of the corrective action. LQM is set up as QM for TIPs issued from the branch and is responsible to close the TIPs. Run overdue TIP Reports for follow up. Maintain Document Control and retention for all local forms, work instructions, profiles, customer SOPs through Qdocs. Maintain Approved Suppliers List, track and validate Suppliers through Supplier Management Tools to ensure documents are sent to QSHE Head Office. Maintain calibration records, reports, and equipment within facility for KN and customer equipment (temperature control when applied). Provide management with QSHE documentation relating to new hires and new hire orientation training.

• Maintain QSHE Training Matrix and Plan, training records and certificates. Ensure the required new and refresher training is provided, CBT enrollments. As required, maintain branch Shared Drive for all documents and records. Coach local management to reach, maintain and continuously improve QSHE standards within the branch. Liaise with customers, subcontractors and outside parties as required. Provide status updates and information as requested by the Branch/location Management. Provide QSHE topics for local management meetings and provide feedback on continuous improvement. Provide required documentation to support the annual Management Review Meeting including attendance of key personnel. Assist management with QSHE Goal setting during annual Management Review Meeting. Please note The completion of the Management Review report is the solely responsibility of the Branch Manager or DCM. Coordinate and assist Internal auditing of all QSHE and Compliance standards and requirements. Run BOXI reports for audit preparation.

• Perform periodic internal inspections to follow up completion of pending audit action Items. Maintain quality certifications handy for any external visits.

• HEALTH + SAFETY: to ensure the sub-set of responsibilities assigned to a JHSC “Safety Chair” working with the branch JHSC Safety Committee are in place for proper application of the KN Canada Health & Safety Program:

• ENVIRONMENT: to ensure the sub-set of responsibilities assigned to the Env Champion working with the branch are in place for proper application of the KN Canada Environmental Program

• SECURITY: to ensure the sub-set of responsibilities assigned to the Local Security Manager working with the branch are in place for proper application of the KN Canada Security Program

Your skills and experience

Professional experience required:
• Preferred minimum 3 year in a similar position, if newly hired
• Preferred minimum 1 year with KN if being promoted from within as LQM

Knowledge required:
• Familiarity with, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 18001 and EN9100 (as applicable) Standards preferred
• Proficient MS Office (Word / Excel / PowerPoint / Outlook)
• Working knowledge of KN's QSHE policies, guidelines and work instructions preferred
• Knowledge of QSHE Tools's preferred (TIP Tool, Qdocs, Incident Reporting, Security Reporting Tools, Training Tools)

Education required:
• Minimum: High School or Technical degree
• Desirable: College degree in Business Discipline

Skills required:
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous tasks.
• Demonstrates strong networking and interpersonal skills and professionalism to deal with all levels of personnel
• Demonstrates ability developing and using relationships to facilitate accomplishment of goals
• Must have good problem solving skills and be able to quickly identify, define and resolve problems
• Very organized / Methodical; Able to give directives, set goals and ensure execution
