Operator – Seafreight Import

Be part of a global and market-leading logistics company in an operational role as an Operator in Seafreight. You will join our Seafreight team in Gothenburg, where you will be responsible for the coordination of sea freight shipments whilst ensuring the highest level of operational excellence.

Your Role

As an Operator, you will have the end-to-end responsibility for coordination and handling of import sea freight shipments. Reporting to the Seafreight Manager, the scope of the role is to ensure and deliver operational excellence in our Seafreight business unit. Your role entails supplier management such as coordination with carriers, hauliers and co-loaders. You will coordinate and provide sea freight forwarding solutions in a timely and efficient manner for our customers, ensuring the accuracy and quality of your work. As an Operator, you will have full operational responsibility to deliver excellent service and quality. The ability to working on your own initiative is key as well as being a team player. You will develop excellent relationships with our external suppliers, ensuring the highest level of operational excellence in an environment of continuous improvement.

Your Responsibilities

·  Ensure day-to-day operations are performed in compliance with international and national laws and regulations
·  Optimise the operational logistics solutions on customer contracts with an emphasis on profitability, quality and efficiency
·  Supplier management such as coordination with carriers, hauliers and co-loaders as well as the coordination of sea import shipments
·  Manage suppliers costs
·  Invoicing and financial control of income and cost
·  Ensuring quality along the entire supply chain in accordance with SOPs
·  Foster and develop good relations with suppliers and other external stakeholders
·  Develop in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the role to ensure full ownership
·  Participate in operational meetings with suppliers and other external stakeholders
·  Pro-actively look for and contribute to continuous improvement opportunities in the department 

Your Skills and Experiences

·  Experience from a similar role in the freight forwarding or shipping industry
·  Sound knowledge of the Seafreight operations and understanding of freight solutions such as LCL and FCL
·  Demonstrated history of delivering high levels of quality and operational excellence
·  Experience of working with good working practices and procedures to ensure efficiency and professionalism  
·  A customer-centric mindset and collaborative
·  Keen to learn and develop on your own initiative
·  IT literate and capable of working in various IT systems
·  Excellent communication skills in order to interact and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
·  Fluency in oral and written Swedish and English is a prerequisite for this role
