The Inventory Control Supervisor has general responsibility for coordinating and supervising all activities for the Inventory Control Department. Maintain records of inventory and the location of individual products in the distribution center and off-site locations. Will oversee day-to-day operations of inventory staff, including scheduling and documentation. Assist in controlling costs through different avenues such as staff productivity, proper utilization of storage space, and proper protection of all stored materials.

Your Role

TThe Inventory Control Supervisor has general responsibility for coordinating and supervising all activities for the Inventory Control Department. Maintain records of inventory and the location of individual products in the distribution center and off-site locations. Will oversee day-to-day operations of inventory staff, including scheduling and documentation. Assist in controlling costs through different avenues such as staff productivity, proper utilization of storage space, and proper protection of all stored materials.

Your Responsibilities

•Will oversee inventory control to ensure all Key Performance Indicators are met or exceeded. May be required to assist other operations within the distribution center. 
•Prepare inventory documentation: this involves accurately recording type, quantity, quality, and other features of inventory 
•Review and evaluate inventory accuracy and taken action as necessary to address and correct deficiencies.
•Ensure that inventories are constantly up to business and client standards
•Ensure available stocks match customer needs
•Ensure maintenance of optimal levels of stock for availability as the need arises
•Set up operation standards for all subordinates to follow
•Ensure proper management of aging and excess stocks
•Recommend operational policies and goals to company’s management
•Respond to complaints and queries concerning inventories and products
•Attend to inquiries concerning products and inventories
•Carry out inventory control to ensure inventories are at optimal levels
•Provide assistance and direction to colleagues and subordinates as required
•Report and analyze data and present results to senior managers when necessary
•Manage a team of inventory counters
•Foster effective and cordial relationships with clients; Investigate complaints of customers
•Assist in the tracking of productivity to support the company business plan. Assist in developing departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize overall accuracy. 
•Establish, lead and manage an operations team including but not limited to recruitment and placement of staff, delegating tasks and accountabilities, monitoring and evaluating performance, training and development of assigned staff. Will be required to handle investigations in order to resolve employee issues or concerns. Will be responsible for issuing progressive discipline.
•Ensure compliance of the distribution centers operations with company policies as well as federal, state and location laws. 
•Spend at least 90% of time on the production floor. 
•Will perform other job tasks, as assigned. 

Your Skills and Experiences

• High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a logistics environment. Manhattan experience preferred.
• Knowledge and experience in Inventory Control principles and practices. Prefer experience in asset protection / inventory protection.
• Knowledge of human resource principles and practices 
• Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
• Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills.
• Ability to communicate with various levels of the organization, including internal and external customers.
• Planning, decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in a fast pace environment, lead and motivate team members.
