Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the KNDL (Kuehne + Nagel Drinks Logistics) HR team in an exciting and progressive regional capacity covering 5 highly unionised sites across London.

We are seeking a highly ambitious and experienced Associate HR Business Partner with a strong desire to be part of a growing team. You will lead and drive HR processes for absence management and provide support and coaching to a variety of management levels across teams.. You will need to demonstrate commitment, drive, flexibility, attention to detail and above all passion to want to be part of this exciting and fast moving business unit.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities

· 
To ensure that sickness levels across London sites are managed robustly and in accordance with legislative requirements, Company procedures and any recognised local agreements in place within the sites

· 
To take a collaborative and coaching approach, to ensure that relevant staff and Managers are fully aware of their responsibilities and obligations when dealing with absence matters, and that any non-compliance is identified and speedily resolved

· 
To work in collaboration with occupational health provider, managers and trade union representatives to ensure early return of employees to work after period of absence, ensuring any relevant operational adjustments are in place

· 
To advise managers on appropriate next steps for absent employees and coach on relevant conversations around return to work interviews, welfare meetings and general absence management strategies

· 
To support managers on practical aspects of recommendations made by occupational health reports

· 
To proactively manage the absence management casework and process to company standards, advising and monitoring site practices accordingly, and applying best practice

· 
To support managers with sickness absence review meetings

· 
To work with local administrators, HR Service Centre and any other relevant personnel (e.g. Payroll, Benefits) to ensure that all record systems and documentation are accurate, up-to-date and processed within the requisite timescales

· 
To ensure that all matters relating to discipline and grievances are handled in accordance with both legislative and Company requirements, and to participate in the management of such matters as appropriate, recognising the potential need for commerciality in certain cases

Your Skills and Experience

· 
Extensive operational HR experience, ideally with CIPD qualification

· 
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with employees, managers and trade union representatives

· 
Highly organised case management and coordination skills for absence management across a multi-site environment

· 
Proven experience of strategy implementation and collaborative approach to reduce absence levels

· 
Extensive experience of working with occupational health providers and operational managers to ensure early return to work after absence and commercially viable management resolutions

· 
Knowledge and practical experience of managing end to end medical severance discussions and process

· 
Experience in managing employee relations in an unionised environment

· 
Experience of working in a multi-site environment

· 
Good working knowledge of employment law

· 
Be self-motivated, able to work under pressure and prioritise

· 
A good level of IT literacy

· 
Clean and valid driving licence

· 
Ability to present and communicate effectively

· 
Excellent organisational skills and strong interpersonal skills

· 
Excellent management, written and verbal communication and influencing skills
