CERENOVUS offers a broad portfolio of devices used in the endovascular treatment of hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke.

CERENOVUS, a Johnson & Johnson company, is seeking a Principal Engineer for its Neurovascular R&D group in our Miami, FL location.

The Principal Engineer will be responsible for the product design and development of a project with a focus on innovative implantable medical devices. You will be working within a multi-functional project team through all phases of the product development process, planning and executing projects through product launch. You will work closely with members of the project core team and physicians to define user needs, generate design concepts and prototypes, perform design evaluations, and support development of product and process validation plans and testing. You will be involved in significant test method development and testing of the proposed design to aid in the development process.

·  Technical leader responsible for the design and development of technically complex projects by leading multi-functional project teams through all phases of the product development process
·  Responsible for organizing, planning and executing projects through product launch, commercialization, and post market surveillance
·  Leads the team as they define user needs, gathers VOC, generates design concepts and prototypes, develops tooling and manufacturing processes, and performs design evaluations
·  Works closely with regulatory and clinical in developing and executing regulatory strategies and clinical research plans
·  Leads to completion product verification and validation strategies. Responsible for determining the direction and adequacy of a device design, providing guidance in balancing materials, manufacturing processes and cost optimization
·  Will make decisions on engineering issues demonstrating knowledge of design and DFMA principles, manufacturing processes, and material properties
·  Responsible for ensuring comprehensive IP clearance and broad patent coverage for strategic projects and new technologies. Must demonstrate strong proficiency in the application of design controls and development processes, and possess strong organization skills to support all aspects of the project management functions including scope definition, budgeting, and contingency planning
·  Will also be responsible identifying and leading strategic selection of suppliers for the project
·  Must have a demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage a dynamic workload, exhibit strong written and verbal interpersonal skills and interact with multi-functional project teams, management, sales and physicians
·  This position requires experience and knowledge of vascular devices and procedures, having prior experience with vascular implants or therapeutic devices in the neuro, cardio, or endovascular field

Qualifications

·  A Bachelor Degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering is required with a minimum of ten years of related engineering experience
·  New product development experience in implantable medical devices is required
·  Possess significant complex level engineering experience required
·  Must possess a clear deep understanding of theoretical and practical fundamentals and experimental engineering technique requirements
·  Must have ability to lead activities over several projects required
·  Must possess clearly recognizable excellent technical qualifications and leadership English interpersonal skills, written and oral
·  This position will be located in Miami, FL and requires up to 10% travel domestically with the potential of international travel
