Title: Metallurgist - 60702 

Your Responsibilities

 

As a Metallurgist for John Deere located in Coffeyville, KS, you will perform failure analysis and provide material/process/design recommendations to improve life of the components within a drivetrain assembly. In addition, you will:

 

·  Assist with the development and control of heat treat processes including all aspects of our batch carburizing heat treat process including but not limited to quench oils, development of cycles, carbon generation, tempering and lap analysis

What Skills You Need

 

·  Basic metallurgy experience
·  Failure analysis experience
·  Solid understanding of batch carburizing furnace and induction heat treat

 

What Makes You Stand Out

Other areas of experience or interest that will help us place you on the right team include:

 

·  Experience in batch carburizing furnace and controls and induction heat treat
·  Experience in failure analysis of drivetrain components

 

Education (or equivalent work experience)

 

·  Bachelor's degree in in Material Engineering
·  Advanced engineering degree
