Your Responsibilities

As a Facilities & Process Engineer for John Deere Parts Distribution Center in Milan, IL, you will perform analysis on large data sets to define project opportunities and sequencing. You will work as part of a cross-functional team to provide detailed analysis related to facility optimization and capacity planning while also leading small projects. Additionally, you will:

·  Support project teams responsible the reconfiguration/construction of warehouse facilities, including onsite coordination of contract installation resources
·  Design warehouse layouts and storage solutions that align with facility operational requirements
·  Work with various vendors (racking, material handling equipment, labor, etc.) to take designs to quote and through the internal procurement process
·  Support optimization models for warehousing inventory capacity and inbound/outbound processing

What Skills You Need

·  We need an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, who thrives on solving problems and working in a global team environment
·  Exposure to manufacturing plant and warehouse distribution environment
·  2D drafting experience 
·  Experience with Excel, PowerPoint and Access

 

What Makes You Stand Out

Other areas of experience or interest that will help us place you on the right team include:

·  Project management experience in a factory and/or industrial environment 
·  Experience maintaining and managing shop floor layouts in AutoCAD 
·  Understanding of programming fundamentals & concepts for use with large data set manipulation and analysis 
·  Programming experiences in SAS, SQL, Python, R, Java or similar
·  Experience with warehouse management/control systems

 

Education (or equivalent work experience)

·  Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Mechanical), Analytics, or a similar mathematics-based discipline
