A co-op term with Intel of Canada's Non-Volatile Memory Solutions Group is a challenging and rewarding experience, allowing you to gain knowledge and experience in design and test of IC and module products for the next generation of Solid State Drives (SSDs). As a member of our Systems Engineering team, you will work alongside experienced engineers to solve new and interesting problems, making an important contribution to our exciting high-performance SSD projects.

As a Firmware Validation Engineering Co-op you will work alongside other firmware and validation engineers to develop tests and tools that build product quality and team efficiency.

Key Tasks include:

·  Analyzing FW feature and creating viable test strategies. Implementing test cases using Python and/or C.
·  Collaborating with different functional teams to debug FW issues.
·  Building tools to accelerate aspects of the software lifecycle.

Validation is important for every design, and it is a key element of Intel SSD reliability. In this co-op, you will gain both system and low-level firmware feature knowledge. You will also be able to build a good validation mindset from a large-scale validation infrastructure and contribute to the final stage of SSD validation before shipping to the customer.

Responsibilities may be quite diverse and are exempt nontechnical in nature.

Canadian experience and education requirements will vary significantly depending on the unique needs of the job.

Non-Volatile Solutions Memory Group: The Non-Volatile Memory Solutions Group is a worldwide organization that delivers NAND flash memory products for use in Solid State Drives (SSDs), portable memory storage devices, digital camera memory cards, and other devices. The group is responsible for NVM technology design and development, complete Solid State Drive (SSD) system hardware and firmware development, as well as wafer and SSD manufacturing.

Qualifications

You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Relevant experience can be obtained through school work, classes and project work, internships, military training, and/ or work experience.

Must have the unrestricted right to work in Canada without requiring sponsorship.

Minimum Requirements:

Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.

Minimum 3 months experience in:

·  Scripting Languages: Python, C/C++.
·  Debug.

Preferred Qualifications:

·  RTOS.
