Overview

With a turnover of 4.087 billion euros and with +16,000 employees in +250 sites in 50 countries, Imerys is a global industrial company and world leader in mineral-based specialty solutions for industry. Imerys transforms a large variety of minerals into high value specialty products for the industry using sophisticated technical processes. Bringing heat resistance, mechanical strength, conductivity, coverage or barrier effect, these specialties add essential features to its customers' products or manufacturing processes in many industries such as consumer goods, industrial equipment and construction.

Imerys spends approximately 100 M€ for road transportation (tankers, bulk, packed, and flatbed) in Europe. Around 120 Imerys sites in Europe ship raw materials and goods to hundreds of customer production sites and warehouses.

We intend to develop a global a global vision of our roads and warehouses locations to work on improving our logistics efficiency.


Responsibilities

The trainee will be at the core of improving our logistics efficiency on roads and warehouses.

• Road flows
o Construct a methodology for gathering flows;
o Interact with logisticians;
o Gather road flows from each division.
• Warehouses
o Identify all Imerys warehouses;
o Characterize Imerys warehouses according to surface, available space, etc.
• Identify areas of improvement in coordination with local logistics contacts to improve logistics efficiency.

Requirements

• You're a Masters Degree student in logistics, and are passionate about trucks and road transport.
• You are eager to put your strong analytical skills to the test, and have advanced skills in excel (VBA strongly appreciated).
• You're fluent in both French and English.
• You're prepared for some light travel during your mission.
• You're always eager to learn, and your ambition and energy drives you to be a self-starter seeking a degree of autonomy in your work.
