Range & Supply Press Office Team, IKEA of Sweden, Älmhult

Before IKEA products enter the stores there are years of research, design, prototyping and testing, often in close and long partnership with suppliers around the world and with a strong focus on sustainability and quality. A dedicated team at IKEA of Sweden in Älmhult is responsible for identifying, developing and distributing the communication about all the great work that is done behind IKEA products. One important area is the communication around regulations globally, where Range & Supply focus on products, materials, product information etc., in order to make the IKEA range sellable around the world.

Our Press Office Team consists of a group of highly professional people with different backgrounds. We work on a truly global arena, with great opportunities to influence different stakeholders in cooperation with colleagues in Älmhult as well as IKEA network of colleagues and suppliers around the world.

We are now looking for a Press Officer with focus on Public Affairs to join our exciting journey. The content about the whole product and supply chain is increasing within IKEA communication and so is the interest from external stakeholders. And our need to work with relation building with different stakeholders in the regulation areas are increasing as well.
We want our future colleague to strategically and proactively ensure that all IKEA organisations, NGOs, authorities and other key stakeholders access the great stories, facts and figures about our Range & Supply.

Some of the key tasks will include:

·  Responsible for stakeholder engagement to influence and develop content, both proactive and reactive, and build good professional dialogue with key internal and external stakeholders.
·  To coordinate media and interview requests and ensure that Range & Supply has the required content and spokespersons in order to communicate identified key messages.
·  Analyse and monitor media, identify proactive opportunities as well as potential risk issues, develop and work with communication goals and KPI:s in order to follow up initiatives and analyse results.
·  Together with the Public Affairs team within Range Supply lead proactive and reactive opinion building through working with media.
·  To lead Public Affairs visiting agenda within Range & Supply and develop this as a strategic, proactive channel, by working closely with other IKEA organisations. Is this your next challenge?

We believe you have a degree with an emphasis on communication and several years of working experience, preferably from a media house, newspaper, PR-agency or from an organisation with a developed external communication/PR agenda. You have extensive experience from coordinating international media relations and a sound knowledge of media monitoring. It is beneficial if you have experience in engaging in public discussions on several levels and a good understanding of global political structures, decision making processes and ways of working. You should have extended language skills, with fluency in both spoken and written English and preferably an additional language such as; Russian, Chinese, Arabic or Spanish. It is good if you have the ability to travel extensively.

As a person, you have a strong drive, ability to take lead and to remain calm also in situations of high stress. You are a good judge of media attention and when it is important to act or not. You are structured and methodical and have a big attention to details and understand the importance of getting all the facts right. You enjoy working in global, fast paced environment and with challenging deadlines.
