Your day to day
The in-room dining order taker always welcomes guests when answering the telephone in a warm and friendly manner • Assist guests with their service requests; Assist guest with their food and beverage requirement• Ensure all incoming calls are answered within specified time as per SOP.• Speaks with guests and staff using clear and professional language, and answers phone calls using appropriate telephone etiquette.• Able to answer any questions regarding menu and assist with menu selections.• Able to anticipate any unexpected guest need and reacts promptly and tactfully.• Always applies service techniques correctly at all times, and serving Food & Beverage items with enthusiasm.• Serve food courses and beverages to guests in the room following company SOP.• Set IRD table trolleys according to service standards SOP.• Record transaction / orders in Point of Sales systems at the time of order.• Repeats order back to the guest for confirmation as per SOP• Communicates with the kitchen regarding any menu questions, the length of wait and product availability.• Communicates meal requirement, allergies, dietary, special requests to kitchen.• Check with guests to ensure satisfaction as per company SOP• Responsible for clearing food and beverage trolleys from guest corridors and returning to correct storage areas.• Maintains cleanliness of work areas, china, glass, etc. throughout the shift.• Reviews order dockets ensuring accurate and timely preparations for orders• Keeps reliable, accurate tracker of all incoming calls received• Reliably updates all department documentation as assigned• Posts accurate final bill to guest and processes payment.• Perform shift closing on the POS terminal and tally cash/credit card settlements.• Ensures that the IRD office and back of house is always kept clean, organized.• Ensures that hotel brand standards and SOP's are consistently implemented.• Work with management to ensure assigned area achieves its full potential.• Completes the daily responsibilities that are set for each individual shift.• Complete closing duties, including restocking items, turning off lights, etc.• Any other duties related to food and beverage service assigned by the manager.
What we need from you
• Diploma or degree in Hotel Management or related field.• Familiar with Point of sale systems, MS office, Property management systems etc.• Minimum 2 years work experience gained from a 5 star international property.• Ability to work as part of a diverse team with colleagues from different cultures.• Maintain high confidentiality in regards to guest privacy and any hotel matters.• Good command in both spoken and written English and Arabic• Good knowledge of food and beverage service.
