Your day to day
If you'd like to embrace a wider world of experiences and opportunities and continue your career journey with the IHG Family, we'd like to welcome you to our Housekeeping Team. As a part time Laundry Attendant you’ll launder and dry clean guest and colleague laundry, manage uniform distribution and maintenance and linen requirements across the resort. Supporting the wider Housekeeping Team to make sure our reimagined luxurious rooms, suites, public areas, amenities and facilities are always ‘fresh and welcoming’– creating a haven for our guests to escape and relax in.So if you know what it takes to exceed guest expectations and have experience within housekeeping or commercial cleaning, this is your opportunity to work in our unique environment. Your day to day will involve; - Pressing of uniforms.- Daily uniform distribution to Resort colleagues.- Laundering and dry cleaning guest garments, colleague uniforms and resort linen.- Assisting Seamstress with guest garment alterations and mending.- Assisting Seamstress with Colleague uniform mending, labelling and alterations.- Attending to guest requests.- Reporting any maintenance concerns.- Assisting the wider Housekeeping Team as needed.- Ensuring equipment and pantries are kept clean and maintained.- Working with a range of chemicals.
What we need from you
With 1 – 2 years of experience within a housekeeping environment in a hotel or resort or high volume commercial environment, as the ideal candidate, you will have had exposure to a commercial or in house laundry operation. You will have good communication skills, excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high standards. This is a fast paced and high volume environment in a resort property where lifts and indoor travel is not prevalent, and whilst you will be based in the laundry, walking long distances between accommodation blocks and resort areas will be required. You will need to be comfortable working in a physically demanding environment and able to carry, push or lift heavy objects such as linen, beds, bed sheets and vacuum cleaners. In addition, you will be comfortable working across indoor and outdoor environments and be able to frequently stand up and move about the Resorts grounds. Knowledge of safe working habits, chemical handling along with the use of cleaning machinery and wider hotel operations would be highly regarded. You must also hold the appropriate work rights to work within Australia alongside an open driver’s license and be flexible to work weekends and evenings as required; commencing from late September to early October 2020.
