Each experience enriched by an otherworldly setting of tropical rainforests or the crystal waters of the Coral Sea, from the all-new beach front Pool Club to the reimagined dining icon, Pacific.

Great restaurant memories come from many places. The sights, sounds, scents and, importantly, the food.  Working within the reimagined restaurants, bars and event offerings on the island, your passion for presentation and dedication to delivering flavour will complete each guest’s experience. By taking pride in your workspace, keeping your standards high, and giving our menu the benefit of your expertise, you’ll create some of our guests’ favourite culinary moments. The perfect complement to the unique personalised service provided by our world class front of house team.

Reporting to the Executive Pastry Chef, you will be involved daily in the preparation and production of the pastries for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner services across the Resort culinary operation, giving you exposure to banqueting, a la carte, bistro, fine dining and bar service styles.

This role encompasses all the normal things you would expect from such a role; an opportunity to focus on the pastries and let your ingredient knowledge, creativity and culinary skills shine.  From high teas and desserts to sweet treats and savouries, you’ll partner with the Pastry team to deliver delights across the resorts venues, corporate functions and special events.

What we need from you

So if you’re charismatic, creative, and passionate about exceeding guest’s culinary expectations and playing a key role within the Kitchen Brigade - this is your opportunity to work in this unique environment and fast track your career.

Our passionate foodies must have:

·  A formal Commercial Cookery Certification 
·  A minimum of 1 years experience as a Commis Chef specialising in Pastry 
·  Demonstrated performance in a hotel or resort environment, preferably in a complex property with multiple restaurants, bars and banqueting department
·  Strong skill base and experience delivering a variety of pastries in a la carte, banqueting and buffet food production environment
·  Experience and capability to deliver on the expectations of a modern and contemporary guest experience 
·  Possess great attention to detail 
·  Excellent time management skills 
·  Superior communication skills 
·  A working knowledge and understanding of HACCP procedures

You must also hold the appropriate work rights to work within Australia and be flexible to work weekends and evenings as required; commencing from late to early October 2020.
