Job description

IBM Blockchain Services is looking for an experienced visual designer to join its global practice. As part of IBM's Global Business Services division, IBM Blockchain Services is charged with educating the market about blockchain, advising clients on how blockchain can improve their businesses, and building new blockchain solutions on behalf of clients.
The IBM Blockchain Services team is in “startup mode,” recently established but growing rapidly. Visual designers will wear multiple hats, but can expect to:
·  Build demos, prototypes, and production-level client solutions utilizing the IBM Garage method
·  Support enablement, marketing and communications efforts
·  Participate in and/or co-facilitate IBM Design Thinking Workshops with clients both pre- and post-sale
·  Collaborate with colleagues across all divisions of IBM Some travel will be required. This an opportunity to work in a global role and help build a design practice in one of IBM's “hypergrowth” areas. Responsibilities include:
·  Produce storyboards, layouts, comps, presentations, graphics, and other design artifacts
·  Work with user experience designers, design researchers and developers to ensure visual design enhances the overall user experience
·  Clearly outline experiences from screen to screen and work with front-end development to deliver motion and visual designs
·  Defend design choices using previous user research, heuristics and usability standards
·  Create world-class customer experiences and beautiful visuals that support and reinforce our vision Skills Required:
·  Demonstrated ability to produce quick, low-fidelity sketches and sleek, high fidelity visuals on tight schedules
·  Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in typography, color theory and iconography
·  Demonstrated ability to create click-through prototypes to test and validate working hypothesis with users
·  Demonstrated ability to synthesize real user feedback into designs
·  Solid understanding of mobile and desktop graphic techniques and production practices
·  Working knowledge of how compositions translate to HTML, JavaScript and CSS used to deliver feasible designs
·  Knowledge of accessible designs
·  Ability to work independently, when needed, as well as collaborate with a cross-functional team
·  Ability to work with brand and design guidelines
·  Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
·  Outstanding storytelling and presentation skills

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  3+ years of experience in visual design
·  Knowledge of design tools including Adobe Creative Suite
·  Portfolio that displays a solid understanding of visual design principles
·  Familiarity with industry, design and web trends
·  Readiness to travel 15-20% travel annually
·  English: Fluent
