Job description

This role is onsite in one the these three locations: NYC, NY, Armonk, NY or Southbury, CT.

IBM is seeking an experienced lead senior engineer that has a passion for delivering operational excellence while managing one of the largest centralized deployments of Windows 10 in the world. We are looking for someone who take our operational posture to the next level, enabling data-driven decision making and proactive responsiveness to expertly deliver world class services to our end users.

What will you do?
·  Oversee the development, deployment, and performance of the configurations, applications, and services we deliver to the over 300,000 Windows 10 workstations we support using Microsoft-based MDM and federated identity solutions.
·  Ensure we have visibility, metrics and alerting on every service and every script running in our environment and deliver relevant dashboards for consumption for administrators, architects, and executive leadership, using tools including, but not limited to, NewRelic, PagerDuty, ELK, SQL, and Grafana.
·  Communicate and partner with adjacent organizations and senior level stakeholders, both inside and outside of IBM as well as present the state of our program to executive leadership.
·  Make certain that all services and components are clearly documented and implement effective change management to mitigate risk.
·  Responsible for the health of our Service Now queue including driving issues to resolution, identify issue trends, and finding root cause of the problems.
·  Recommend process improvement optimization for incoming workload and escalating problems where appropriate.
·  Provide technical leadership of junior to mid-level systems engineers as a member of an Agile team and play the role of a coach, teacher and mentor.
What skills would help you succeed in this role?
·  Deep knowledge in the area of deploying, configuring, maintaining, and administering Windows Desktop operating systems and applications at the level of a Microsoft Certified Enterprise Administrator Expert or an MCSE: Mobility.
·  The ability to automate tasks and processes using various scripting and programming languages, such as PowerShell, Python, Batch, and Shell on Windows and Linux machines.
·  The ability to ingest, store, and manipulate data from various sources into SQL and NoSQL databases and present such data into relevant and meaningful dashboards on Business Intelligence tools.
·  The ability to tactfully communicate information to decision makers through polished presentations.
·  An understanding of cloud architecture, API services, web technologies, and container orchestration that allows you to deploy, monitor and scale containerized applications on public and private clouds.
·  A working knowledge of the various technologies and trends that our team interacts with, including but not limited to IP Networking, DNS, Identity and Access Management, Modern Authentication Protocols (SAML, OIDC, OAuth2.0), Federation, Certificate Based Authentication, and DevOps practices and tooling.
·  The passion for professional and technical growth that can show itself through continuous learning, training and certification.
Where can you perform this role?
·  We are hiring out of our Manhattan (NY), Armonk (NY), Southbury (CT) offices.
·  There will be expectations to periodically visit the other sites.
