Strategic Sourcing Buyer (Fluent German)

General Purpose
IBM is looking for a self-driven procurement professional , with fluent German and English language knowledge to support its prestigious Client from the Airline industry, headquartered in Germany as Strategic Sourcing Buyer / Category Manager.

Responsible for executing category strategy and managing the contractual commitments for a given category. This role will report to a people manager within Procurement Services organization, with business direction provided by a Sourcing Manager. Requires the ability to conduct market analysis, including market drivers, supplier profiles and relative negotiating positions. Expected travel: approximately 30 days annually .

Main Responsibility Areas
·  Provide category support as assigned by the Client Sourcing Consultant and Category Strategy Leader
·  Owns primary responsibility to achieve client success against all contractual commitments at a category level
·  Responsible to understand category deliverables, savings commitments, milestones and obligations, and establish a project plan to meet each
·  Develop integrated (tactical and strategic) category sourcing strategy which delivers short term savings and drives category transformation through time
·  Provide category leadership and direction to Category Buyers
·  Responsible for on- going category management activities including driving supplier performance, demand management savings, and increasing category compliance
·  Communicate and negotiate with clients and suppliers through all levels of organization, primary interface to key category client stakeholders Profile:
