Quantum Software Engineer

Job description

IBM Research is looking to hire excellent candidates to contribute to its quantum computing software efforts. The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of quantum circuits, linear algebra, and software techniques to suppress errors in quantum experiments. In this role, the candidate is expected to quickly prototype ideas, be adept at working in an interdisciplinary team of theorists and experimentalists, and propose solutions tailored to IBM's software/hardware stack.

The successful candidate will be responsible for architecting compiler optimizations in the Quantum Information Science Kit (Qiskit). IBM builds the full stack of quantum applications, circuit-level interfaces, pulse-level interfaces and hardware. You will have the chance to closely work with an expert team of software and hardware researchers to improve the performance of first generation quantum computing systems.
