Working closely with colleagues both within and outside the GHHS Proposal Management team, the Watson Health GHHS Proposal Development team is responsible for writing and reviewing bid responses, creating and maintaining bid collateral, and performing various tasks associated with the preparation of compliant and compelling proposal responses. Proposals may be completed in conjunction with internal or external business partners (systems integrators).

In addition to excellent writing and oral communication skills, a strong knowledge of the IBM Watson Health GHHS product portfolio is required to analyze RFP and RFI documentation in order to contribute to the Win Reviews that are used to inform executive decision making.

A critical skill for the position is the ability to persuasively convey business and technical information in support of the overarching story of why a client should select our proposed solution. The ability to explain complex business and technical constructs or approaches is a plus. Experience of managing projects is also desirable since the role frequently involves liaising with multiple stakeholders (sellers, legal, marketing, PD, SI partners and so on) and coordinating the various threads involved in producing high quality responses.

Responsibilities:
The role of a Watson Health GHHS Proposal Developer includes:
·  Learning and understanding the key capabilities of the IBM Watson Health product offerings and their applicability in government, provider, payer and life-science domains
·  Analyzing prospective customers' bid documents in order to contribute to Win Reviews
·  Working with IBM Watson Health sellers and systems integration partners (internal and external to IBM) to produce quality, on-time proposal responses
·  Collaborating with colleagues from Capture Management, Product Marketing, Product Development, Product Management, Technical Sales, Legal, Pricing, STS and other internal constituencies, to source data required for proposal responses
·  Ensuring that existing customer pain point and proposal win themes are identified
·  Ensuring that current product messaging is strongly reflected in proposal narratives
·  Writing narrative responses to address functional and technical requirements within RFXs
·  Using appropriate templates for bid responses
·  Maintaining and leveraging reusable content for responses
·  Attending proposal meetings, providing regular status updates to management
·  Responsible for final formatting, ensuring bid guidelines are met (e.g. page limits, etc.)
·  Carrying out both compliance and quality reviews for draft responses prior to submission
·  Providing partner support on multi-vendor team based responses
·  Proactively assisting in the identification of content required for future responses;
·  Contributing in a meaningful manner to the creation and maintenance of the standard set of documents describing the GHHS solution portfolio - commonly referred to as “the Bid Pack”
·  Interfacing with graphics team to describe and source diagrams and images needed for proposal responses and bid pack documentation
·  Traveling occasionally, as required, to company, client and/or partner sites
·  Being very flexible to work extended hours as needed under the pressure of inflexible proposal due dates
·  Staying up-to-date on new developments in proposal writing and management
·  Managing available resources in an efficient manner so as to provide optimum support to the seller and partner communities

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  3+ years writing government proposals or 3+ years working with one of the IBM Watson Health GHHS solution offerings
·  Excellent writing and business analysis skills plus good attention to detail
·  Excellent interpersonal and communications skills. Comfortable hosting meetings and teleconferences
·  Be comfortable with modern technologies and willing to learn about IBM Watson Health and other IBM GHHS product portfolio offerings
·  Have experience and be comfortable with managing projects that have tight, fixed deadlines, and be flexible to work as required to meet these proposal deadlines
·  Have good problem solving and organization skills
·  Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
·  Have a proven ability to interact cross-organizationally at all levels to satisfy internal and partner needs
·  Ability to create, foster and contribute to a positive team dynamic where team members feel their contribution is recognized and valued
·  Ability to pass writing assessment
