The IBM Cloud Networking group is looking for a talented, innovative and enthusiastic Software engineering professional that will build the next generation virtualized routing and security services to make our customers succeed. The IBM Cloud Networking Tribe has a global cloud presence that continues to grow and expand its reach. Our Network Services engineering team is responsible for delivering virtual network services with top-notch performance, first-rate security, fail-safe reliability and exceptional quality.

An IBM Cloud Networking Software Development engineer will be the key individual responsible for development of new networking services on the IBM Cloud Platform.

We are a global team, so communication skills (both verbal and written) are critical as well as flexibility to work with team members in other time zones.

Responsibilities:
·  Software development using modern programming languages
·  Provide clear documentation
·  Provide clear and advance communication to colleagues and stakeholders about upcoming system changes
·  Take initiative to substantially improve customer and colleague workflows
·  Use advanced new technologies judiciously to reduce complexity
·  Implement the identified components from High Level Specifications using the defined API standards.
·  Make sure the developed components are unit tested.
·  Provide defect fixes.
·  Create documentation for the developed components.
·  Implement REST/HTTP/RAML/Swagger
Requirements:
·  Software Development Skills
·  Strong troubleshooting skills
·  Experience with Git and Github
·  Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD)
·  Understanding of modern cloud (compute, storage, networking)
·  Understanding of Servers and cluster concepts: backup, load balancing, disaster recovery
·  Understanding and experience with REST
·  Understanding of Containers and virtualization and related tools

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  At least 2 years in Software Development
·  Experience with REST
·  At least 2 years experience with Python, PHP or GO programming languages
·  Experience with source control like Git, Bitbucket, or Svn
