DevOps Developer

Job description

The Quest DevOps team is part of the IBM CIO organization that is helping to transform the way IBM works by making it possible for the CIO Services teams to use the best tools and frameworks to automate testing and deployments. We're supporting the roll-out of a newly designed Deal Workflow application.

In this role, you will be engaged in the implementation and development of cloud-based, DevOps tools and services for use at a program level. This role requires experience in cloud development, as well as the ability to collaborate on end-to-end solution design. This role demonstrates a solid understanding of a broad set of information technology tools, methods and architectures.
This role will also require an understanding of cloud architectural models and it's desirable for the candidate to come with a background of practical application and understanding of a variety of skills such as Java development, Python development, micro-services, container-based models, event-based architectures, relational databases, etc. Strong development and collaboration skills, test automation, CI/CD, pair-programming, and agile experience will make you a strong candidate for this role.

Responsibilities:
·  Work with stakeholders across organization to identify opportunities to improve test and deployment automation.
·  Research DevOps tooling options for the right fit
·  Design guidelines for optimized integration across multiple development teams
·  Work with developers to identify improvements and build corresponding solutions using our tools
·  Build solutions and also manage those solutions after they are deployed in production CIODEM20

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  Experience with 2 or more programming language such as Java, C#, Python, and javascript
·  Experience with databases (SQL, NoSQL)
·  Experience developing within micro-services architecture and DevOps Technology like Jenkins, Travis CI, etc.
·  Experience with SOA/web services – REST, JSON, XML
·  Experience writing, reviewing and documenting code
·  Familiarity with Agile methodologies and principles
·  Familiarity with DevOps practices (Continuous Integration/ Delivery/ Monitoring/etc)
·  Familiarity with GitHub
·  Problem solving, interpersonal, and time management skills to handle high-pressure, complex situations effectively
·  Strong communication skills, and the ability to work directly with clients/customers
