Job description

Currently we are looking for DB2 LUW Administrator.
This role is to provide technical support for database environments and supports the full system life cycle.Person on this position performs Database Administration for a variety of operational and support databases.
As DB2 Administrator you will maintain existing databases by investigating key factors (storage, input/output frequencies, access time etc.) and unusual incidents and problems encountered by applications or systems analyst.
On this position, you will install patches and upgrade the software to enhance database performance and compliance and maintain and manage database backup and recovery, data propagation (replication) and performance monitoring/tuning.
DB2 DBA Monitors database disk space usage and perform RCA of database issues and recommend solutions or workaround.

Your responsibilities will include as well:
·  Research, recommend and implement automation methods to proactively manage databases.
·  Perform database design tasks related to the structure of a database including analysis, logical data model review, and physical database design.
·  Implement monitoring procedures to maximize availability and performance of the database.
·  Work with third-party vendors to review installation prerequisites, database sizing, and support database installation of the product
·  Participate and/or take a lead role with the infrastructure and database configurations/changes, upgrades and etc. that are moderately complex in nature with a high level of proficiency.
·  Lead DB2 cross-skilling program to train other DBA team members with DB2 technology.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  Hands-on experience supporting DB2
·  DB2 performance monitoring and tuning (from both system and application perspective)
·  Working knowledge and application of database concepts.
·  Competent skills to debug and dig deeply into one specific task to uncover the root cause and provide solution(s)
