The Position

As a Backend Developer, you are part of a highly focused, self-managed Agile team who designs, develops, tests & deploys applications that run on the mainframe using modern programming languages. You will help bring digital applications to life by creating robust enterprise platforms to support rich and interactive front ends. Your expertise in designing and building high performance, reliable enterprise applications on the mainframe allows you to build the services, integration, data, analytics and algorithms required to support next generation experiences. You interface with enterprise architects and delivery teams to shape, estimate, and define the programs that turn ideas and prototypes into fully functional systems.
As a member of a dynamic team in supporting the delivery of enterprise software for a large user base, you demonstrate leadership, technical curiosity, a self-starter, creativity as well as forward thinking with a passion for growth and innovation.

The Location

IBM Hursley Park is one of IBM's longest standing (recently celebrating 60 years as an IBM site) and largest software development labs in Europe. Located in the Hampshire Countryside and only 10 minutes from historic and bustling Winchester, Hursley boasts a 3000 person strong team of technologists working on a vast range of products and projects from across the IBM portfolio. The offices, nestled into private parkland and included amongst them the original grand Queen Anne style country house, form an incredible backdrop for this established and respected community of technology experts.
