We are currently recruiting an experienced Application Developer-Chef on Hortonworks Bigdata clusters in Hybrid Cloud environment , for 12 months fixed term contract (extendable), based in Sydney.
Role and responsibility
The Application Developer-Chef (Big Data automation) is responsible for developing the full life cycle of build and enhancement of Hortonworks Bigdata Platform in Hybrid Cloud environment. As a Chef Application Developer your responsibilities will include:
·  Automation using Chef, the deployment of Hortonworks Data Platform multi node cluster set up on HPaas cloud. This includes developing new cookbooks and recipes, enhancing and maintaining the Chef Cookbooks and recipes.
·  Automation using Chef the installation and configuration of multi node Hortonworks Data Flow and streaming cluster.
·  Automation using Chef the High Availability of Edge Node, Kerberos server Master Slave installation/configuration and Ambari node.
·  Automation using Chef the deployment of Streaming with Nifi, Kafka, Storm and SAM through Hortonworks Ambari along with the pre-requisites and post installation of the product.
·  Automating Hortonworks Ambari agents, Ambari server installation and post configuration setup through Chef scripts.
·  Automating using Chef , the Vormetric Agent installation and Agent registration to Vormetric Data Security Manager.
·  Automating using Chef the installation and configuration of KDC, Postgresql and set up its database for Hadoop.
·  Automate through Chef the installation of Hortonworks Data Platform and Hortonworks Data Flow multimode cluster deployment through Ambari blueprints.
·  Automate the process for addition of new datanode and service components for the Hortonworks Data Platform using Hortonworks Ambari through Chef. To ensure success in the role you will possess the following experience skills
·  Minimum 5 years proven experience in Chef Automation in building and managing Big Data platform.
·  Minimum 2 years of extensive experience on HDF and HDP cluster installation, configuration and deployment using Chef and Ambari Blueprints.
·  Minimum 3 years extensive experience in Ruby programming language and a deep understanding of Chef Ruby gems with Hadoop Streaming cluster.
·  Hands-on experience in Artifactory Repository Management Tool for code management and version control.
·  Solid Experience in Integration of Chef automation workflow with GitHub.
·  Minimum 1-2 years commercial experience in automation of Vormetric Data Security agent installation and registration to Vormetric Data Security Manager through Chef.
·  Commercial Experience in automation of the installation and configuration of KDC, PostgreSql and Hadoop database setup through Chef.
·  Hands-on experience in Chef to automate the High Availability of Zeppelin, Hortonworks Kerberos Master Slave installation/configuration and Ambari node.
·  Experience in Agile delivery model and able to work in high volume and fast changing environments.
·  Strong working knowledge and hands on experience working in cloud environment.
·  Hands-on experience in cloud technologies, unix/linux and other programming languages e.g. C, C++.
·  Solid experience in Data structures and Algorithm design and implementation. Compensation package from $74 970 (full-time equivalent) and will be determined based on successful candidates relevant skills and experience.
