Application Developer Mobile Android

IBM Client Innovation Center Romania is continuing to expand to meet client demand. As a result, a number of exciting opportunities have arisen for skilled professionals to become part of the Mobile development team.
Overview: the Mobile project‘s scope is to deliver a premium native app experience to an Oli&Gas company's customers.
The first release will focus on Pay@Pump functionality where customers will be able to: drive up to a fuel station, open the app, select the pump, put the phone away, fill their car with fuel, and drive away. Payment is taken automatically in the background and the user simply receives a notification / email to indicate they have paid.
The backend is provided by PayPal and IBM iX are responsible for delivering the premium native app experience. We are running Agile Scrum, using the latest DevOps practices and principles, iOS 9 & 10, Android 4.4+, TDD, Gitflow .
The app will be rolling out initially the UK, followed by 2 other markets, with the ultimate intention for it to be a global rollout.
The app has major focus from both IBM & Client and therefore we are only hiring the best.
Job responsibilities:
·  Key role delivering the Android application (small team of 2-3 developers)
·  Delivering best-in-class application experience
·  Being part of cross functional agile scrum team which means doing more than just an
·  Android developer i.e. involvement with DevOps, test automation, design
·  Writing and reviewing code of peers

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  Able to write any App given the Specifications using State-of-the Art Processes and Tools (Libraries, Build Systems, IDE, Testing Methods and Verification/Beta Processes)
·  Able to coach and explain standard Use-cases and Design decisions (In-App Payment, Swipe Gestures and such)
·  Excellent technical knowledge of Java for Android and Android Studio
·  Demonstrates strong experience/knowledge of the Android SDK and Material Design
·  Good understanding of software development best practices
