The IBM Australia Development Lab (ADL) plays a key role in developing and supporting IBM software products. ADL has skilled technical teams in locations around Australia engaged in every facet of software product development and support. This creative talent continues to be a driving force in bringing new products to market and its support teams deliver to a world-class standard. ADL works closely with other IBM research and development sites, services and support teams around the world, often managing multi-cultural, global teams with assisting clients world-wide. ADL also has links to many of the top Australian universities and sponsors various collaborative activities at all levels.
Interns who join our team will participate in all activities involved in creating a product used by enterprises across the world and will develop full stack development skills. Our engineers get involved in all aspects of software creation such as:
· Identifying and understanding new features
· Designing for resiliency and scalability
· Developing , automating and deploying continuously

Area of study:
Computer Science, Software Engineering
Technical skills/knowledge required:
· Object oriented design
· Java programming (or another OO language)
· Problem analysis
Technical skills/knowledge highly desirable:
· Front end development (Angular, React)
· Familiarity with Unix
Non-Technical Skills/Knowledge Preferred:
· Clear written and verbal communication
· Ability to analyse and understand user requirements
· Ability to work in a team
· Ability to receive and give feedback to peers
Graduate applicants must meet the following requirements:
· Have Australian/NZ citizenship OR Australian/NZ Permanent Residency
· Have at least a credit average from respective universities
· Candidates must be from Australian Universities and still be enrolled during the duration of their studies
· Have no more than 2 years relevant work experience
