Job description
The role of the Traded Risk Control Analyst within Business Consultants is to work with internal customers to define and prioritise business problems and opportunities; exploring and scoping possible solutions to these problems and enabling transformational business change in order to create value. Business Consultants will hold most or all of these responsibilities:
· Anticipate issues and risks and act to mitigate these
· Define and prioritise business problems and opportunities
· Achieve stated revenue and costs benefits
· Effectively manage operational risks and internal controls
· Monitor performance and metrics against business case, resolving where possible and escalating where necessary any deviations
· Work with line management to define detailed value-focused solution options based on the opportunity and provide recommendations, weighing up investment vs. return.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Ensure correct risk and detailed analysis is provided, and therefore that the correct levels of capital adequacy are maintained by the bank.
· Maintain and improve quality of analysis to MRM and other clients (FO/Regulators)
· Ensure the delivery of risk analysis to a Global standard by working closely with other team members both in London and globally.
· Attention to detail, disciplined and focused on ensuring risk is provided correctly.
· Build additional functionality in accordance with client requests
Desired profile
Qualifications :
The ideal candidate for this role will have the below experience and qualifications:
· Masters in finance/maths/engineering
· Experience in risk analyst
· Set and achieved challenging short, medium and long term goals which exceeded the standards in their field
· A track record of making complex business decisions with authority, even in times of ambiguity, considering the potential long term risks and implications
· Experience of creating and deploying comprehensive business/operating plans which consistently deliver desired results
· A successful track record of delivering complex projects and/or programmes, utilising appropriate techniques and tools to ensure and measure success
· A comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes
In addition to the details listed above, the ideal candidate will have a track record of:
· Candidate will be expected to have a strong understanding of Market and XVA Risk and a good understanding of its role within the wider Group Risk context.
· An understanding of the Credit/CVA businesses, XVA Stress Testing and the accounting context is required.
· Candidate will be expected to also have strong programming skills (VBA, sql, C++, Python…)
· Candidate will be expected to work independently and will be expected to have the discipline to run all necessary processes to a consistently high standard.
· Thorough understanding of risk management, Value at Risk, sVaR, PVBP, RWA and Stress Testing
• Understand key risk factors for all asset classes.
• Thorough understanding of the Market risk function.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access
• Ability to design and implement normalized databases.
• Advanced knowledge of VBA, MDX Query and SQL
• Experience in related banking areas
The base location of this role will be 8 Canada Square, London.
