Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC's global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world's leading international bank.

Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.

We work in small, agile DevOps teams with colleagues around the world from our offices at the Bluefin Building in Southwark, our global headquarters in Canary Wharf, and multiple other locations around the UK including Sheffield, Leeds, Barnsley and Birmingham.

Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains and with plans for continued expansion throughout 2019 and beyond, we are currently seeking a OSS IT Finance Business Partner to join HSBC Technology.

Operations and Shared Services Technology was formed at the beginning of 2018, bringing together some of the critical services which are used by all GB / GFs into one organisation. The aim was to create a dedicated shared services centre to enhance technology capability, better support Operations and deliver industry leading change.

The total portfolio of OSS Technology is c $550 million budget in 2019 which includes Run the Bank of critical services and large scale CTB transformation programmes. OSS Technology encompasses shared platforms which are used by multiple GB / GFs and external customers. Core Banking processess17 billion transactions per year, 56 million accounts, deployed in 65 countries with over 20 million lines of code.

What you will be doing;

Define, approve and manage financial targets for direct costs in line with the annual planning process

·
Provide Global Exco full oversight on all direct cost reduction initiatives / sustainable saves for the function, making sure these are reflected in AOP /forecasting cycles

·
Improve the transparency for the Change the Bank Portfolio ensuring effective evaluation around challenging benefits realisation and Strategic fit

·
Develop the financial (and non-financial) metrics required to support Indirect charges, leveraging industry best practice for both

·
Lead on the provision of insightful commercially-driven analytics for charges to the business, and appraise senior management of status, risks and issues

·
Improve the relevance of Charges to support business decision-making and the understanding of cost drivers, increasing transparency and the credibility of financial MI

·
Production of Financial MI and commentary for various audiences and contribution to other reporting as required and charges to other areas of the bank.

Qualifications :

What you will bring to the role;

To be successful in this role you should have proven experience within the Technology sector with knowledge of the following skills:

· 
Ability to build relationships by communicating, influencing and negotiating effectively with business heads, senior managers, third party consultants, technical experts across the whole department and business users

· 
Strong interpersonal skills, coupled with proven experience working in a matrix management structure and building and maintaining global team relationships

· 
Evidence of delivery in a similar role within a complex, global organisation, including holding relevant ExCo membership and active participation

· 
Experience of managing the costs for Technology in a global organisation

· 
Excellent influencer and stakeholder management skills

· 
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to a wide range of individuals and groups and at different levels of seniority.

·  Self-starter

Qualifications:
· 
Typical qualifications would include an MBA, undergraduate degree and professional qualifications in Finance i.e. ACA. Relevant experience is also a prerequisite, including CFO roles, ideally managing large infrastructure cost functions (preferably Technology).
