Global Internal Audit provides independent, objective assurance to management and the risk and audit committees as to whether the framework of risk management, control, and governance processes, as designed and represented by management, is adequate and functioning.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Innovation Data Scientist .

Principal responsibilities
· The primary responsibility of the Innovation Data Scientist is successful execution: the successful candidate should be able to demonstrate an aptitude for innovative solution delivery that is pragmatic and heuristic.
· Partnering effectively with stakeholders.
· Data science in an audit context and Data ingestion.
· Design and construction of machine learning models such as regression and clustering
· Confrontation of data to models; data conformance.
· Design and support implementation of analytical procedures.
· Specification of techniques for identification and analysis of data anomalies.
· Successful transfer of technical solutions.
· Successfully partnering with internal and external partners to deliver the technology, engineering and infrastructure required to realize Asia Pacific Internal Audit's innovation strategy
· Hands on execution re architecture, design, optimal configuration, systems, infrastructure, access, tooling, testing and implementation.
· Consistently displaying behaviors that form part of HSBC Values and Culture.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

Requirements
·  ​Quantitative PhD, banking experience not necessary, but an advantage.
·  Aptitude to innovate, demonstrated by past experience.
·  A mindset that naturally emphasizes execution and delivery.
·  Disposition to partner effectively internally and externally to provide solutions.
·  Good knowledge and experience of risk management not limited to a banking environment, though banking would be preferable.
·  Knowledge of complex transformation programs.
·  Ability to understand complex issues and provide pragmatic solutions.
·  Ability to work within complex business and stakeholder relationships in a diverse business and cultural setting.
·  High standards of professional and personal integrity.
·  Good written and verbal articulation skills
·  Willingness to travel regionally.
