Commercial Real Estate Analyst I

Job description

This position is an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of Commercial Real Estate Finance through involvement in the various stages of loan origination, analysis, closing, syndication, and portfolio management. Properties are located in the United States and will include a variety of property types including office, multifamily, hotel, retail, condominium, industrial, and mixed use. Transactions are generally large and complex, including construction loans and syndications for major national and international clients.

Operational Effectiveness & Control

· Be part of a team that analyzes both new loan requests and manages the existing CRE loan portfolio.
· Complete independent, reliable estimates of potential cash flow and current underwriting values used to screen and evaluate mortgage applications on office, multifamily, residential condominium, hotel, retail, and industrial properties located throughout the United States.
· Prepare annual reviews of existing loans as part of the portfolio management process; escalate any issues/questions that arise during analysis and review.
· Assist the syndication team with marketing of loans and execution of loan sell-down; assist with management of the existing syndication portfolio and communication with partner banks.
· Attend and participate in deal reviews to discuss the strengths, risks/mitigants, etc. related to the proposed loan opportunity.
· Conduct property inspections of prospective new properties and those secured by existing loans to determine the level of maintenance and overall property condition.
· Complete other responsibilities as assigned.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

·  Bachelor's degree in business, related field or equivalent experience.
·  Strong communications, analytical, time management, decision-making, and organizational skills.
·  Proficiency with personal computers and software packages including Microsoft Word and Excel.
