Banking Talent Programme

Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) introduced a 6-month programme to nurture a sustainable pipeline of young talents for the financial industry. We appreciate the importance of developing young talents for our constantly evolving and innovative environment and are now offering a 6-month full time opportunity for 2020 Graduates to gain various exposure in Wealth and Personal Banking or Commercial Banking business.

Programme Overview


Duration: 6 months full time employment
Period: 1 September 2020 –28 February 2021

Programme Highlight

The programme will equip you with valuable and practical banking knowledge and skills to work in the real industry, with professional training activities and courses provided in-house and externally by HKMA and HKIB, putting you one step ahead of the rest.

We are currently seeking high-calibre individuals to join our team for the following business functions:

Commercial Banking: Provide customized financial solutions to full spectrum of business customers, ranging from small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to large corporations to grow their businesses.

Relationship Management team:

· Provide support to Relationship Managers and services to corporate customers
· Perform financial / competitive analysis and collect market intelligence
· Assist in preparing customer profile for KYC (Know your customer), account review and account opening purpose
· Support customer credit and onboarding processes
· Coordinate activities, arranging resources, meetings, services and supplies
· Assist in record administration – maintaining records, information resources and data sources
· Comply with internal control and operation requirements by observing and adhering to the established internal control systems, standards and policies as well as external regulatory requirement

Products/Functions team:

· Assist in the preparation of MI reporting/tracking, data processing and basic data analysis
· Assist in the preparation of market updates and presentation
· Assist in reviewing and streamlining procedures for operational effectiveness
· Support in product/campaign launch/workflow streamlining and revamp
· Work collaboratively with different stakeholders and build good network with them to drive execution and results
· Comply with internal control and operation requirements by observing and adhering to the established internal control systems, standards and policies as well as external regulatory requirement

Wealth and Personal Banking: Focus on personal wealth management and financial services. Our one-stop wealth management initiatives are designed for both our affluent and mass integrated account customers. With around 260 branches and automated banking centres, including Prestige Banking Centres for our high-end personal customers, we serve over half of the adult population, offering an extensive range of products.

Principle Responsibilities

· Participating in project planning activities, progress tracking, budget monitoring and quality management under guidance of Programme Managers, Project Managers or PMO Managers
· Engaging with stakeholders to determine project requirements and coordinate system / process design, testing and change management
· Preparing project documents, management reports, quality procedures and project plans by adopting the Bank's project methodologies and agile ways of working
· Providing support to the project governance
· Conducting business research and analysis
· Reporting, flagging and managing issues and risks of the projects
· Drafting and disseminating project communications

·  2020 Bachelor's Degree Graduates from local universities
·  Demonstrate a high degree of commitment and drive self to achieve business and personal goals, overcoming obstacles as they arise
·  Good analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
·  Strong self-motivation and willingness to learn
·  Advocate of openness, teamwork and integrity
·  Proficiency in English and Chinese
·  Good knowledge of application software (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and Chinese Word Processing
·  Hong Kong Permanent resident
