Role Title: Associate Software Engineering Manager, Development

Business: Global Banking & Markets

Role Purpose / Description:

· Represent China Global Banking support team on daily production issue handling
· Make sure the team provide daily Technical Support for GB/COT/GDS Applications, working closely with HSBC Infrastructure teams globally to manage and ensure all the application are stable and running in good status
· Manage crisis situations and apply business contingency plan
· Ensuring legacy and new implementations follow best practise design standards in line with business requirements
· Monitor service availability of all GB/COT/GDS applications, undertake relevant incident management as well as work towards continual improvement to existing services
· Provide application and technical support for Product Controllers and Business Users.
· Act as conduit to external parties, within and outside of HSBC, for support services including HTSE, 3rd party vendors etc.
· Be an owner to critical applications, arrange required daily support items, and assign them out properly to 1st line support, meanwhile handle escalated items.
· Involved in Incident Management and Problem Management, to report on service availability, record and log incidents in a timely manner, as well as to communicate to IT and user community.
· Involved in Change Management, to govern and review any changes before introducing to Production Environment, work closely with development team to under the change.
· Boost team-work to achieve common business goals
· Recognize individual performance/strength and develop staff on career roadmap
· Encourage staff suggestions and experience sharing

Desired profile

Qualifications :

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications:

·  2-3 year experience in management position with exposure to performance management, risk management, process management jobs
·  Has good IT background
·  Experience in one or more areas of Unix, Linux, Java and Scripting.
·  Experience in one or more arrears of Sybase, Oracle and other DB systems.
·  Proficiency in verbal and written English communication skills (frequent communication in oral English with other parties will be required).
·  Work under pressure.
·  Self-motivated.
·  Find logical solutions to problems and manage to resolution. Able to response to production problem with good sense of judgment between escalation and further investigation.
·  Understand and attain technical knowledge from on the job experience.
·  Good interpersonal and communication skills. Be pragmatic and flexible with an open minded approach to dealing with teams with differences in terms of geographic location, language and culture and relationship and proximity to the users.
·  With experience in GB&M products, application systems production support, Perl. PL/SQ, Control M and HTML would be added advantage.
·  Ability to learn quickly, transfer knowledge appropriately. Evidence of good analytical, statistical and data mining skills to study trends and make projections
·  Production management skills and ability to initiate process improvements
·  Leadership and coaching skills, with ability to build rapport with, relate to and effectively develop a wide range of people
