Job description

Role Title: Associate Software Engineer II, Testing

Business: Data Services

Role Purpose / Description

You will be part of a team that will provide development of Hong Kong Data Warehouse projects managed by data engineering. Your responsibilities will include:

Ÿ Can work independently under team leader’s instruction.

Ÿ Design and develop IT solutions according to HSBC standards and best practices.

Ÿ Ensure a high quality standard of deliverables.

Ÿ Prepare documentation and provide support on compliance and audit checking.

Ÿ Support for deliverables in need.

Ÿ Support end to end systems integration.

Ÿ Technical management during the deliverables.

Ÿ Conduct system tests and provide support for system integration test and user acceptance tests.

Ÿ Conduct system upgrade and new releases.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications

Ÿ A university graduate with degree in computer science or a related discipline.

Solid experience in Database Development(mainly Teradata/DB2), Linux/UNIX & Shell scripting development

Ÿ Experience in below technology will be an advantage: BI/Mainframe/COBOL/Teradata/BTEQ/DB2/Linux/UNIX/Shell Script/TWS/Control-M/ Datastage.

Ÿ IT working experience on application support or development, preferably in an enterprise or a global environment will be an advantage.

ŸŸ Certain problem solving skills, able to work under team leader’s instruction and also within a global team.

Ÿ Enthusiastic and self-motivated with good time management skills.

Ÿ Good communication skills and documentation skills in English.

Ÿ Flexible and adaptable in accommodating change of requirement and willing to take new responsibilities when necessary.

Ÿ Basic level of understanding in investment banking and wealth management. Investment domain background is an advantage.

Ÿ Ability to work under stress and deliver in a responsive manner.
