Global Service Centers.

Our Global Service Centers are an integral part of Global Operations. Employees based there manage day-to-day customer transactions and processes for the global businesses. This may include transactions for our retail bank such as processing loans, credit cards, insurance and mortgage applications, opening new accounts, and managing customer enquiries through contact centers and digital platforms.

Employees in the Global Service Centers also run and manage operations for commercial bank customers. This includes processing credit applications, facilitating payments and managing the import and export transactions that enable customers to protect and grow their businesses through international trade.

Purpose of the role

The GCOO CCO MI CoE was set up to support the CCO teams in proactively managing their current and emerging risk exposures, that risks and issues have been identified, assessed and are being managed via appropriate internal controls in line with risk appetite and any regulatory and Group Standards / Policy requirements. The department is responsible for:

Developing best practice global processes to manage all aspects of Operational Risk and Internal Control in line with the Group's Operational Risk & Management Framework with guidance from CCO team.

Provide best-in-class service, at an agreed price point achieved through the consolidation of work, optimal leveraging of global scale, applying benchmarked processes in production management and leveraging global professional expertise.

We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join as “Assistant Vice President - MI & Reporting CoE, GSC's”. In this role, you will be responsible for the following:

Principal Accountabilities (Key activities & decision making areas)

The job holder will be working as an Individual Contributor in a centralized utility where a team of highly skilled staff work together to provide a single source of high quality and consistent Management Information to a variety of stakeholders within the scope of the Chief Controls Office (CCO) function.

·
You will be expected to use techniques in data sourcing, transformation, and visualization to respond to the various complex demands of the CCO stakeholders. You will play key role in defining automated processes to increase efficiency, improve accuracy of reports and establish controls governance structures across CCO teams. This will facilitate senior decision making by delivering a step change in the quality and impact of Risk & Control reporting across multiple regions and functions to provide insightful, concise, dynamic and timely analysis.

Key Activities include:

Work with the CCO stakeholders to define and produce risk and control management reports providing valuable insights to relevant senior audiences.

·
Support the implementation of consistent global controls environment governance processes, provide insightful and provocative analysis.

·
Analyse the issues arising from material incidents and identify the need for intervention as a result of reporting, analysis and governance outputs, subsequently working with the CCO stakeholders to resolve issues.

·
Deliver timely and insightful reporting and analysis to Global Business, Regional stakeholders and to Chief Control Officers.

·
Ensure that all reporting and analytics deliverables to stakeholders are concise, precise and impactful.

·
Ensure collaboration with other reporting & governance teams outside of the CCO organization.

·
Ensure provision of high quality analysis and reporting to inform decisions and actions related to risk and control management

·
Improve and automate existing reporting processes by identifying and implementing innovative tools and techniques.

·
Provide consistent, accurate data, analysis and insight to CCO stakeholders

·
Work closely with CCO stakeholders on Operational Risk issues including group initiatives that are consistent with CCO needs and sharing best practices/lessons learnt

Desired profile



Qualifications :

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications (For the role – not the role holder. Minimum requirements of the role.)

Experience in data analysis and reporting, ideally related to risk and control management in an IT or Financial Services environment

· 
Expert knowledge of analytics, reporting approaches and tools (such as Qlik Sense, Qlik view, Python, Tableau, etc.)

· 
Ability to present complex issues confidently and concisely to Senior Management, using simple language and accommodating globally distributed stakeholders

· 
Excellent relationship management, collaboration and influencing skills with experience of positive, challenging interactions with senior executives

· 
Analysis and reporting subject matter expertise

· 
Ability to distil complex and varied information into useful, insightful and concise recommendations

· 
Ability to identify, assess and communicate the need for risk management intervention, both as an input to analysis requirements and output from reporting, in complex, fast paced environments.

· 
Proactive and delivery focused to ensure individual and team tasks are completed on time and to the required levels of quality.

· 
Ability to prioritize workload effectively in line with the business priorities

· 
High level of drive and self-motivation to ensure delivery of a broad range of outputs simultaneously in a matrix environment

Skilled decision-maker, making considered and timely decisions, particularly when under high pressure or working to tight deadlines

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels across the Group

Educated to graduate degree level, ideally in Business Administration or related field.

· 
Good understanding of HSBC: values, structures, processes and strategic objectives.

· 
Good understanding and knowledge of Operational Risk and Internal Control principles and ability to assess risk trends and aberrations

· 
Competency with Technology, viz. proficiency with BI tools, Databases, MS Office. A fast learner of any new technology
