We are seeking a highly motivated UX Design Intern to work part-time during the school year at the HPE office in Stewart Center on Purdue’s campus and work full-time over the summer at the Houston, TX location. The intern will focus on creating web experiences for a storage interoperability tool.

Summary of Responsibilities:

·  Collaborate with internal HPE teams as well as HPE customers and partners to identify and prioritize usability issues and translate it into detailed process flows, sketches and wireframes
·  Craft the story of your ideas and concepts into a message that others can rally behind
·  Use all means possible to concisely and effectively produce influential deliverables
·  Run user studies
·  Rapidly whiteboard, wireframe, mockup, and prototype your ideas—And iterate often
·  Design and deliver user stories, user journeys, mockups and interactive prototypes
·  Communicate, present, negotiate and refine your messages to the people you work with to sell and gather adoption of your idea
·  Deliver and understand how to take your design to code and how it translates when in the hands of users
·  Advocate for user-centered design
·  Learn the basics of our technologies, hardware, organization, how we sell, and the customers we sell to

Required Skills and Experience:

·  Pursuing a degree in User Experience Design or equivalent at Purdue University
·  Sophomore level or above
·  GPA above 3.0
·  Passionate about developing simple, clean, elegant user experiences
·  Desire to learn new skills and highly motivated
·  Very organized and ability to communicate effectively with others
·  Understanding of user personas, user scenarios and wireframing
·  Eager for feedback and constructive criticism
·  Experience with design tools like Sketch, Adobe XD (Experience Designer), Invision, Principle, and ability to push some pixels and work with vectors
