The HPE 3PAR Software Development Manager - 3PAR Manageability Product(s) is a leader responsible for building world class products for managing the HPE 3PAR storage arrays. The position/person is responsible for building  and developing a high quality team to deliver market leading offerings. The position entails collaboration with cross functional teams like product management, release management, documentation, support and supply chain to help realize the product and it's releases from conception to delivery. The product leader will have strong domain expertise in Storage Infrastructure, hands-on with modern DevOps tools and processes, have significant experience in Agile Development and thorough with modern software programming languages (Java, Python, Ruby, GoLang).

What You'll Do

People - leads by example and demonstrates sensitive and compassionate leadership of people. Engages and enables people to deliver with high quality and predictability. Motivates people to align with the company and BU goals.

Product - has a strong understanding of what differentiates the product in the market and focuses on innovations that renders the array management intuitive, consumable and efficient

Process - embraces 'agile' methodologies to deliver product updates and releases often and with quality. Has a strong understanding of Cost of Quality and puts in processes to 'shift-left' defects

Our Minimum Requirements for this role are

Accountable for on-time execution and high quality product releases for the Storage Manageability product(s)

Accountable to define and execute on software development plans and lead the agile process implementation

Provide direct and hands-on leadership to the team to develop efficient and scalable solutions (Architecture, design and code) for the various releases

Manages headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for ongoing projects, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated and that goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with project and program roadmaps.

Active collaboration with product management, technology services and other eco system partners

Helping to foster the culture of creativity and excellence through technical innovations, attention to quality and professionalism

Lead a large size product R&D team with experienced engineers & Technical Architects

Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement and cost reductions opportunities

Provides overall people-care management for direct reports, including hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development; drives and fosters organization-wide performance standards, expectations, and practices to support ongoing team member and process development.

Experience in any of the following will be considered a plus

Experience developing Manageability Products for enterprise class Storage Arrays

DevOps- tools and processes

Language - Java, Python, Ruby, GoLang

REST based architectures

Solid understanding of software development best practices, including verification strategies

Excellent track record of delivering high quality solutions on schedule

Proven experience in leading Product R&D teams

Ability to look from market/customer perspective, articulate the value proposition of the solution, including to the internal work force

Strong leadership skills, including coaching, team-building, and conflict resolution

Ability to work with and influence value chain partners in developing the solutions

Proven track record in working across multiple geographies and cultures

Well versed with Agile development process and should able to drive high standards towards quality of products being deliveredShould be able to handle ambiguity and provide meaningful direction to the team

Education and Experience Required

·  BE/MS in Computer Science from leading engineering institutions in India/abroad. Graduates/PGs of tier1 institutions preferred.
·  Formal qualifications in people and enterprise management preferred
12 to 15 years of total experience with 3+ years of experience in  managing software product R&D with a team size of 12 or more
