Pointnext R&D develops and integrates software to automate support delivery to HPE customers and partners – via a support portal as well as ‘phone home support’ for HPE devices installed at customers sites.

Pointnext R&D follows the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) – where the role of the Product Owner is defined in detail (https://www.scaledagileframework.com/product-owner/ ).

Core responsibilities include:

·  Drive effective Program Increment (PI) planning cycle and execution (including Sprint planning) with internal/external stakeholders
·  Define and groom user stories, and actively manage team backlog
·  Ensure predictable delivery of high-quality code
·  Become a domain expert to effectively support development teams

Typical tasks assigned to Product Owners include: working with Product Managers to breakdown features into user stories for all new functionality, presenting user stories to the product teams inrefinement and design sessions, ensuring that new functionality meets the acceptance criteria and required definition of done so the work can be designated as complete.The Product Owner is the content authority for the team backlog and works with the team to prioritize user stories for the team backlog, participates in the team sprint ceremonies and is available to provide advice, clarification and guidance during the execution of each Sprint.

The Product Owner shares the team and organization responsibility to Quality. If stories and/or Features do not adhere to the Definition of Done then they should not be accepted by the Product Owner. It is the Product Owners responsibility to inspect and accept or reject backlog items. If an item is rejected then the Product Owner should Inspect and Adapt on this item with the team to continually improve the teams work.
