We have a brand new opportunity for a driven, customer focused Commercial Negotiator to join our GreenLake Worldwide Go To Market Team. You will be responsible for closing successful deals by developing innovative and creative solutions to commercial challenges, driving best practice, and, helping HPE pivot to an “as a Service” company at a time of growth and transformation.

As Commercial Negotiator, you will work with sales and bid teams to develop and support new and exciting business opportunities in a manner that strengthens and protects corporate business and financial interests.  You will ensure that proposed solutions comply with the commercial terms of the corporation and business unit. 

You will develop models and outcomes that are inventive and facilitate acceptance by the customer and internal governance processes. You will be responsible for driving the contracting process, working with a broad stakeholder community, internally and externally, and be able to confidently present HPE’s position.

You will have the opportunity for regular travel in this role.

To be successful you will:

·  Take responsibility for the progress and successful outcome of complex negotiations. Success would be defined as a signed contract that is seen as high quality, provides clarity and protects HPE position with appropriate commercial language/structure
·  Demonstrate your abilities to create and implement a negotiation strategy
·  Author well structured contractual clauses to reflect negotiated outcomes
·  Establish a professional, working, and consultative, relationship with the client, up to and including C-level for large accounts and engagements
·  Develop a core understanding of the unique business needs of the client within their industry
·  Establish a professional, working & consultative relationship within HPE
·  Manage internal and external stakeholders within a structured approach to sales and commercial processes to reach a conclusion
·  Driving a successful commercial outcome for the content of the contract and by working with key stakeholders including sales, finance, legal, account etc
·  Provide support to Sales & Pursuit individuals and managers regarding commercial models
·  Be aware of commercial mechanisms used by buyers and how best to negotiate a suitable position for HPE
·  Significant percentage of time spent directly with customer; interfaces with all levels
·  Support Commercial Director on corporate initiatives to drive best practice within the GTM team and across the business
·  Help drive best practice and commercial understanding across the business

To excel in this role you will ideally have:

·  Extensive experience directly related to long-term services and / or outsourcing contracts (buy, sell, delivery)
·  Team player with ability to form alliances across global boundaries.
·  Proven program management skills and able to demonstrate leadership capabilities.
·  Strong influencing and communication skills at a CIO level. Must be fluent in English.
·  Strong understanding of global finance, negotiation and nontracting issues and regulations.
·  Managed successfully multiple large Regional or Global Managed Services or M&A deals.
·  In depth understanding and knowledge of Management of Change issues.
·  Ability to cope with very high peak workloads, extensive travel and period away from home, short deadlines and significant pressure

·  Demonstrate knowledge of contract issues affecting regional or global projects.
·  Demonstrate broad knowledge of corporate products, markets and processes.
·  Provide consulting expertise and present proposals.
·  Excellent Business Acumen.
·  Translate business requirements into contractual solutions.
