The main purpose of the role is to manage a team of US GAAP accounting experts, focused on revenue recognition, supporting HPE’s core businesses in AMS. As such this manager is expected to provide leadership to the team as well as being able to provide clear technical accounting guidance in judgmental situations for stakeholders to follow.

The role also includes responsibility to lead selected WW projects and processes such as emerging business models, requiring working with peers in other regions, and with other compliance groups to identify and address compliance issues or control weaknesses. With the pending implementation of the New Revenue Standard (NRS), this role will require leading the AMS community through significant management of change, involving training, policies revisions and re-engineering of processes.

Responsibilities include:

·  Management of the AMS revenue recognition team and associated processes, such as documenting the accounting assessment for key non-standard deals
·  Regular engagement with finance leaders in the AMS region, providing early communication of revenue issues on deals expected in the quarter and emerging issues for the future
·  Provide guidance on complex accounting situations to finance teams which is timely, and compliant with internal policies and GAAP
·  Working through emerging HPE business models, e.g. new consumption based offerings, to document the anticipated accounting outcome
·  Supporting the integration of acquired companies, harmonizing the acquired company transactions with HPE policies
·  Collaboration as One Finance across Business finance and Controllership stakeholders
·  On time Audit responses, with Green scores for controls testing within the team scope
·  Ensure that sufficient training, coaching and knowledge transfer is provided related to rev rec policies (e.g. on adoption of the New Revenue Standard)

Education and Experience Required:

·  2+ years applying US GAAP in the technology sector
·  First level university degree with a focus in business or economics; advanced degree and/or accounting certification (e.g., CPA, MBA) strongly preferred.
·  10+ years of experience in a finance function.
·  2+ years of supervisory and/or leading a project team experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

·  Superior understanding of US GAAP, with a particular emphasis on revenue recognition standards
·  Excellent people management skills, including managing teams across countries.
·  Excellent communication, business acumen, consulting, influencing skills
·  Excellent multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
