In Henkel we continuously seek for improvement and development. In this ambition, we have set up Global Supply Chain & Purchasing Amsterdam. Our aim is to globally centralize and integrate our Supply Chains & Purchasing across our different Business Units. The Global Category Manager will be a part of the Global Category team responsible for Packaging and supporting a global strategy involving the Regional-Material Group Leads and Regional Category Team Managers around the world with accountability for all business units of Henkel.

What we offer

· Assisting the Category Team Lead to develop a strategy and to define execution plans after approval by Material Group
· Ensuring full documentation and traceability
· Supporting the Category Team Lead to include systematically into strategy definition E2E cost optimization in full interaction with Global-Supply Chain
· Defining and managing selected supplier portfolio
· Contributing to deliver bottom line/top line results, managing own projects according to long term planning and upfront targets defined with MGLs and KAMs
· Gaining and documenting insight knowledge on total value chain, industry and supply base for selected spend
· Conducting periodic risk assessment, designing and managing adequate countermeasures for selected spend
· Supporting full delegation of back office jobs to SSC and develop best practices for e-sourcing with sustainable results

Desired profile

Who we are looking for

·  University degree. Master's degree in Purchasing or Supply Chain; MBA is an advantage
·  At least 3 - 4 years of experience in global commercial roles, Supply Chain ideally Purchasing
·  Knowledge of the markets including supply base, general industry information, good purchasing practices and law
·  Excellent communication skills with influencing and convincing abilities
·  Strong negotiator with experience in single and group negotiations
·  International business experience a plus
·  English proficiency required
·  Project management knowledge and team player attitude
·  Analytical thinking and conceptual skills desirable
