Description

The realization of smart home infrastructures is one of the most often used technologies for private house owners. Millions of people daily use applications, sensors and actors for their own smart home. The development of an infrastructure which allows the interoperability of these devices is crucial for a stable and useful installation. The goal of this thesis is the inclusion of new sensing capabilities and the extension of the existing communication infrastructure using state of the art communication models. The focus is the development of software components required for interaction, configuration and monitoring of the environment and the users.

Requirements

The Hager Group is searching for a talented computer scientist with a strong interest in the field of smart homes. Very good knowledge in the field of software development, especially Java and/or C++, is required. A background in the domain of algorithm design and sensor fusion technologies is needed. Communication skills in English in written and spoken form are mandatory. Analytical competence, creativity and a strong interest in the provided topics is also of crucial importance.
